Is it possible for a first time Ferrari buyer to get allocation for an 812 GTS or even a Superfast in the US?

No. Must own an 812 to qualify.

Maybe at some dealers but not all.
I was offered the GTS allocation even though never had the 812.

No idea if true but someone on another forum saying 30% will go to people that are not previous Ferrari owners.

There are always some that will go to first time buyers. That happened with the 458 VS, the F12 VS, the 488 VS etc. It is what it is. There are some rules with the 812 GTS, but as with any set of rules, there are ways to avoid them. As for official rules i.e the points system for qualifying for a secure and early 812 GTS, it takes a lot more than just an 812SF. But dealers have their ways, and once an allocation has been through customer A, it is not hard getting that same allocation to customer B, once A backs out. But unless the dealer has an allocation he cannot get rid of, have one from somebody whom backed out, or is willing to put in an effort to grease a few wheels, then no. They are mostly gone by now - just like SF90 allocations. The 812 GTS run is short and the allocations were highly sought after.

Is it possible? Absolutely. But not necessarily easy.

If someone pays the deposit then does that mean an allocation is guaranteed for the GTS? I heard that it is not the case?

No, it is not confirmed until it is uploaded into the Ferrari system. It will then also appear in your 'My Ferrari' app / login.

If your deposit is accepted it's a fairly encouraging sign but not a confirmation.

As was mentioned, no, not even close. Once your order goes Green 10 it is confirmed.

Both the dealers I speak to have slots still available. I am pretty sure a first time buyer can get a car

Yes, that is why I am sort of confident in getting an allocation.
