Since taking delivery of the car new in July of 2020 I’ve managed to put on 20k miles (32186 KMs). Curious what others have on theirs. Image Unavailable, Please Login
June 2019 delivery; 2100 miles to date. BTW, no issues other than rear hatch window recall (completed.)
I don't understand why someone wouldn't drive it. It's not some museum piece. I get shifting between cars but 2000 miles in 2 years is like you are saving it for someone else. I expect to drive my GTS every chance I get if it ever gets here.
Actually, 3 years, not 2. For myself it’s the quality of the miles driven, not the quantity. As I live within 1 mile of the Blue Ridge parkway, I can navigate its curves and hills early in the am when I have the road to myself. Driving 20 miles and experiencing what the 812 can offer is, in my opinion, much more enjoyable than driving 200 miles in freeway or stop and go traffic.
Of course backroads are more fun but that's the case in just about any vehicle. I took my F12 just about everywhere, it was a semi-daily. I will do the same with my GTS and I have more than a few cars.
Taking delivery of mine August 2020 and now I‘m close to 20.000 km (12.400 mi). I‘m not driving it in winter times but my wife & I love to do trips in that car, there is enough space for luggage and even for our Maltese [emoji199][emoji300]️ We were riding several times to Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia etc with that car - what a great GT!!! With about 12 cars at the time I still managed about 4000 or so in a year with my F12, I hope to do the same with the GTS. It will be my main summer car between the sports cars and others.
I applaud that. I wish I drove it more often, but, when the GTS comes, it will be enjoyed and never sold.
Europeans seem to really enjoy and drive these cars more than most Americans. The idea of saving it just baffles me. The 812 is an ideal road tripper.
Picked up our 2020 at San Francisco Ferrari with 1600 miles in Nov that year. We are second owners. Promptly added about 550 memorable coastal miles driving home to San Diego with a couple beautiful stops along the way. Mostly used for occasional trips over the mountains to Palm Springs. She loves that and so do we. Lots of dinners with the wife and some coastal cruising. Currently at almost 5800 miles so we’ve added about 4000 in 18 months. Several other fun cars in the stable but for the two of us when together this is my first choice. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Once I drove around 800 miles in one day and after that I felt better than after a long ride with my AMG. 812 SF is a jack of all trades device [emoji4] Image Unavailable, Please Login Gesendet von iPad mit FerrariChat
Roughly 300 on Monday! Awesome roads, great group to drive with. My F8 spider arrives soon (status 70), but the 812 is a forever car so it’ll still get plenty of miles racked up. I jokingly say the car is not my daily driver, but I drive it daily. Meaning I have other cars to do the ‘daily’ duties, but I still take the 812 out to have some fun. I have other cars to enjoy, but I day dreamed about a V12 ferrari since I was about 10. Now I just live the dream.
Although I do not daily my Ferraris due to the potholed heavily trafficked NY area, I do drive them as often as possible. When I got my 458 S years ago I put 550 miles on it in the first 2 days and about 5K the first year. I currently have 2500 miles on my GTS which is less than a year old and with summer here it will go up markedly. Also commuting traffic should decrease soon so I may daily it a few times taking the least potholed route possible! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Certainly agree, the 812 is a great GT car...having just completed 13k miles in first 12 months of ownership. It's particularly fun touring Europes mountains & lakes and having regularly hit France,Spain,Portugal,Italy,Croatia,Austria,Switzerland,Germany, Belgium... next on the list, if the car is back from the workshop in time (new battery and fuel injection parts), it's off to Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Love it.
Just hit 15000 miles on the same drive Stew went on Monday. First time I saw a Ferrari with a flat tire too (which we left behind to get towed and then plowed on). Picked the car up Feb of 2019 so that's still less than 5k miles per year. I would guess more than half of that is from group Ferrari drives and the rest if the mcdonalds drive through
I felt bad for William... Pete also got a flat on a sharp rock in Cle Elum. He had to get his R8 towed as well. He finally got home around 10pm. It was a long day for him! LOL Along with my compressor kit, I'm going to start packing a tire plug & patch kit.
Just heard from Pete just after tire replacement....the flat was caused by a banana wheel weight that punctured through the tire sitting inside the tire. He replace all with cup2s
Glad I managed to avoid any punctures, normally that’s my specialty lol. I’m probably going to start doing the same, but I usually put some sizable holes in the tires.
