I got a funny feeling the replacement will be a great looking car, simple and aerodynamic as day355 said, with lots of new techs and digital bits inside BUT will not be NA V12 at all.
This is the latest and most updated version of the F167. Furthermore, I personally saw this car at the entrance to the factory in Maranello. There are no longer too many mysteries. No aerodynamic appendage on the side. No holes. Nothing. The flank will be pure and smooth. All the various camouflages were necessary to hide the cofango, very similar to what was seen on the Purosangue. Let's stop with a thousand bullxxit. The car roof and the two C pillars which on the tail should implement a new active aerodynamic system remain a mystery. The result will be something very clean and not at all extreme. Over and over again they talked about elegant GT and it is closely linked to Roma with a strong connection to the 365 GTB4 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Day said Roma is Style and F167 is concept. Still loads of padding doesn't really give much away yet. But with that said the roof and front windshield are now very visible. What's the Sound like in person ?
Long bonnet and short and very tapered tail, as if it slipped under the car body. The two boxes with the exhausts are very external, almost detached from the tail. Beautiful effect. In her proportions it is very reminiscent of the 365 but in a less flat and much more dynamic, harmonious way. If I think of her without the layer of tape and plastic applied, I imagine her slim and compact. Cabin very far back
Consider that I saw her coming back out of the roundabout to stop at the barrier, leave the receipt and go back in. Same sound as the Daytona or Competizione in the same condition with low revs.
@day355 : maybe you could enlighten us once more? You were initially of the opinion the car would be hybrid v12, more recently convinced that it would be NA V12 are you still maintaining that view?
That’s awesome. Make sure you let us know when you see the replacement for the 812. I would love to hear your thoughts on that. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
In order to look forward it is important to look back into the past to other automobile manufacturers and what they have done to maximize a platform. Let's take the Aston Martin DB11 for Example. This car came in V12 and later in V8 and of course we had the Top variant of the "species" which was the DBS. This goes to show that creating the basic underpinning being the F167 much can be done if it is considered from the very start.
Very interesting. So potentially more Ferraris with different powertrain options. They did it with the Lusso. More options doesn't sound like a bad thing to me!
Right so that would mean the F167 would be a new platform capable of having either a v12, v12 hybrid, v8 tt hybrid or v6 tt hybrid, just very modular but still doesn’t solve the question around the probability of what’s likely to come first on that platform The db11 had its v12 replaced by a v8 tt and the top of the line model the dbs , a v12 is now being phased out and its not clear the replacement will be another v12…and aston’s flagship performance car ( F1 based) is the valhalla which is not a v12, similar to the direction ferrari is taking with the lm hypercar and supposedly LaF replacement being v6 tt hybrid. At Aston the V12 now seems reserved for the very limited & exclusive , million dollars a piece examples, the valkyrie, victor or valour. What I think is likely to happen at Ferrari as well ie the v12 will no longer be available to mere mortals but for very limited cars. Ultimately this will happen The question here is whether we are already there ie the f167 launches with a v8 tt hybrid or v6 tt hybrid or we’re getting there soon and the f167 first launches with a v12 then transitions to a v6/v8 tt hybrid while the purosangue also phases out the v12. My view is that the current v12 only lives on a few more years with the PS and the new F167 platform accomodates first a v8 or v6 tt hybrid and will be the underpinning for future models, icona, limited one off etc…
