It was confirmed he meant the exhaust but, yeah, previous models had some kind of vents here, most obvious was TDF. On F12 I believe it was oil cooler outlet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry, I’d like to clarify that I already fixed the front end, because it was a little too long and too high
Mules show some type of pressure relief vent atop the rear fenders near the rear and I would speculate that there would be some type of cut, vent or fin right behind front fenders
A quick initial sketch I did recently. The notch runs around the vehicle and ends at the rear. Conclusion: We are all thinking in the same direction... Ingegnere: You're one of the most experienced designers here in the chat and you will nail it! I hope that the car will retain the typical italian elegance and not lean too much towards a muscle car... no Corvette please!
This looks great! I think that people are taking the phrase ‘like a muscle car’ too literally. I am sure all this is referring to is that the front and rear fenders ( especially the rear ) are flared out and very muscular.
That looks great—love your design style. Only change I’d make—based on what we’ve peaking out from under camo at the back—is the way the rear wheel opening flare blends out at the rear bottom. I think I kind of got it right in my last sketch despite the roughness of the sketch overall. I noticed Roma has something similar going on there.
This is pretty much what I have been hoping to see (fenders and linearly rising line), since seeing Ferrari Vision GT. Didn't day355 say that F167 is a concept? Would be cool to see Vision GT stuff also in F250.
499P has some elements of the Vision GT (or vice-versa?), so good chance F250 will too. And form some comments, seems the F167 will also. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is one element we don’t need to speculate on. This is actual bodywork revealed here, clearly. What we are trying to clear up is this … is the rear light a car wide monolithic light strip ala SF90XX or two separate light strips ala Karma Kaveya? From anyone who has seen the actual final design in person please …
What characterizes the F12 and the 812, regardless of whether we like it or not, is that in both models the rear side presented an innovative design that was radically different from previous models or anything that Ferrari had designed before. In the case of the F167, if the rear part turns out to be as it appears in the renders, in my eyes it will be a restyling of the rear of the Roma or at most something déja vue. I think we should start a new thread already about how ugly the F167 is bc that's what everyone always writes after a reveal and then we'll all end up ordering one
XD Nobody ever tries to talk other people out of ordering so they can get an earlier allocation... Absolutely not...
The notch that runs around the vehicle keeps the viewer's eye better on the muscles and the overside of the body. An old pininfarina trick... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! Great work! Let's try to fit your drawing into the proportions of the real thing (with your permission) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bet when we see the real thing we won't be too worried that it's just a remixed Roma. I think Ferrari designers are much better than that. They have really been incredible the past many years. As they have to be. To do one car well is something, but to succeed on a range of cars, its deeply impressive.
Porsche deliberately omitted RWS from their benchmark 992 S/T, and their explanation gave convincing reasons not to have it on other models: - Weight saving (7kg) - Less Electrical demand to power RWS - so a smaller lighter battery can be fitted - Performance - apparently RWS saps initial power when exiting corners - Purity - the response to the driver’s inputs and feedback are more natural without RWS, making the S/T more engaging to drive. ANY HOPE Ferrari will do the same and omit the intrusive RWS system?? Please!
Unlikely given that the V12 Ferrari is a relatively long wheelbase car given its front mid engine layout. Porsche can omit RWS without sacrificing too much agility because the car is fundamentally a SWB rear engine design.
Yes I know that, I have an F12, but rumours are that the F167 has a shorter wheelbase than 812, so I’m hoping it’s pure RWD like the F12 and not 812. Anyone know 100%?
To make things clear: My drawing above represents my current understanding of the design theme! As i understand the information, a line goes from the front across the side doors to the rear. That separates the vehicle body into an upper and lower part, similar to what we know from some older Ferrari models. The notch/line/edge that runs around the vehicle keeps the viewer’s eye (arrows) better on the muscles and the overside of the body. The “new“ design language can be seen on the Vision Gran Turismo (middle). This sketch (a bit retouched by me) isn´t from me, but from the Ferrari Centro Stile. My drawing below is old! The viewer's gaze slides downwards due to the inconsistent contour.
Eh, I never like how the RWS feels in the 812 but I don't mind it on the 911 GT3. I bet 90% of people won't know the GT3 had RWS if it wasn't mentioned. I think it's an implementation problem.
My guy would always dial in a little bit more toe out on the rear of my RS for COTA. Really squirrelly under braking on the back straight but allowed you to just power the rear around the turns. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
