It can mean both, but I remember LdM at the time explaining that it is the ultimate Ferrari, hence the name.
My $.02 now that the config is up. Pretty much same as my original impression. Great basic shape with some bad details. Having said that its WAY better than any of the V12s since the 599. I found the F12/812 to be hideous in most every way. The bad details im referring to circled below. But still i dig it. Especially the Spider. As with all the new cars Ferrari does, there’s quite a bit of originality and unexpected details and surfacing that make their cars unique and not easily noticeable. The more I look the more cool and unique details I see. Even if I pretty much guessed what it would look like, there is a ton of expected details and ultimately its low-slung stance should make it quite a looker on the road. It looks so much better in the Yellow-ish Green colour on the configurator. I love it after seeing it in that spec!
