    Hi all,

Helping a friend get into an 812 SF, and I've done some searching on the forum but came up empty on this topic. Were there any substantial changes to the 812 SF from beginning of production to today? I'm not specifically talking about options, more like corrections or changes Ferrari might have made. I've seen people complain about some minor issues here and there (rattles, battery, etc), the rear window recall of course, but nothing substantial. Essentially trying to establish if any cars might potentially carry issues. Just trying to maximize the experience for him.

As always, thanks for any help or guidance. Feel free to point me at some search terms or a thread if this has already been discussed.

Assume you have read the volumes written about GPF which became standard after 2019.

The rear glass flies off the car but not sure if year related.

The only substantial change is the GPF added part way through production. If your friend is located in the US this only applies to cars produced after august 2020 I believe. Which there are very few to my understanding. The glass thing applies to them all, so confirm if the recall has been done or not.

Make sure you find your friend a pre GPF car. That’s the most important thing.

For the USA 812SF coupe, GPF never really happened, only a very few late 2020 cars supposedly have GPF, and it is easy enough to check for, open the hood:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login
(every 812GTS for USA has GPF)

otherwise, early cars had the 'leaning back bumper' fitting, but easily fixed by the dealer

and, 2018 model year had a substantially lower base price...

the 2020 model year cars will have automatic braking if the adaptive cruise control is optioned, can be permanently disabled

I still see the crooked rear bumper thing even at dealerships.

This is excellent - thank you all so much. I had read about the GPF, but didn't think it applied to US SF cars, so great to get clarity on that. I didn't know about the bumper issue, so will look out for that as well and read up on it. Man do I hate auto braking in these modern cars! Glad that can be permanently disabled in the car - will read the manual on that. Thanks again all!

GPF, but also from 2019 you can get full ADAS. Not available on 2018 I believe.
