Ferrari hasofficially taken my deposit on the 812 Aperta. They claim they have a official code for it . They have confirmed it’s arriving . Probably first showing in September 2019. Fingers crossed . A Ferrari V12 convertible . This will be epic !
I am afraid that Ferrari will decide who gets the car not we decide to buy one. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
This will probably be the 812 all over again, lots of cars delivered to ROW while US volume deliveries are later. On one hand, that's a good thing (where hopefully most of the bigger teething issues are already addressed), but it sucks to be at the end of the line.
I find that hard to believe. Where did you get that number from? My understanding is that the car won’t be a limited edition or serie but likely that demand will be high.
That’s not the impression they gave me . I was guaranteed a car on deposit officially by Ferrari Australia . In saying so, I mst confess that at least here the Pista Spyder is definitely hard to get and at Maranello’s benevolence. I’ve tried everything and made every effort but the Pista Spyder was not allowed by Italy. Pista coupe is almost like a regular production. I can still get one. Nobody knows how many are they producing. It’s definitely not looking limited in numbers.
No one knows until the time comes but pista spyder also had same logic. No limited production but only limited by production time. All are spoken for by ferrari. I dont see any differences with 812 spyder. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
If the 812 spider is not limited, there’s no reason I would want one. When I’m in my 812, F12 and 599, I never feel like I needed an open top. Unless they do some magic trick to spice up the 812 Spider compare to the coupe. However, when I’m in any 458, 488, and other V8’s mid engines, I would feel very jealous if I see any covertible pass by. The jealous feeling would turn into suicide feeling if it’s in a sunny Sunday afternoon. But still, ferrari doesn’t make much mistake on road cars in recent years, I have my faith in them. Let’s wait and see.
Did you drive a 550 Barchetta, 575M or SA Apêrta ? I have'nt but I don't see any reason why Front engine V12 open top shoudn't be fun while mid engine V8 should...
No I haven’t. I’m not saying it’s not fun. It’s just the front engine V12 coupe does not make me feel like missing an open top function.
I do have a 575 Superamerica and I am currently overwhealmed by my new 812. I am already “on the list” for the 812 Spider and I cannot imagine anything more sexy in the Ferrari World but a V12 Convertible - just imagine the adorable sound of the 812 without any roof....
Oh the sound!!! Yes I do wish to hear more of the exhaust note. That alone worth getting the 812 convertible
Perhaps for the best anyway... in performance & aesthetics the Pista is largely overshadowed already whereas an 812 convertible, last of the n/a v12s will probably be a great long term hold (or couple years of depreciation-free fun)
Several Euro dealers, who used to say “not limited”, are now saying “really limited, we might get one or two tops”. Will there be both? A limited and non limited version?
