Hey, kinda interesting on ebay. It not quite as amusing as the infamous "yellow" firebird 308.

Here is one that at a glance is not that bad. Except for the wheels jumping out at you, parts of it from 50 feet away might pass at a glance. The back end is especially decent. Check it out and let me know what you think. It looks like someone took alot of time on this and for the effort and money he probably would have had a good chunk for a real beat-up ferrari.

110,000 mile Fiero, with a $10,000 "reserve not met" opening bid, dressed up to
sort of look like a Ferrari.......... I just don't understand why people go to this much
trouble when a REAL Ferrari would have cost less than assembling this mess.

This seller needs to keep on dreaming about that price.

A Mera. They were sold through pontiac dealers for a year or 2 so it's probably aabout the best finished replica you'll find.....but a replica non the less.

It was only the sunroof that gave it away, Bargain. :p

not a bad effort. The sunroof is a bit corny. The interior is all Fiero restomod.
    An obvious replica.
It would be a good buy at 6K.

Wrong Forum, should be in the General Automotive Discussion instead. As much as I like Fieros (originals) they are not 308s ;)

Builders should leave off any Ferrari logos on these types of cars. Build whatever you like. Just don't call it a Ferrari.

Well, back in 1986 and 1987 when most of these were built, A real 308 was going to set you back about $40 to $60K or more, depending on year of car and what year it was. (I was offered over $70K cash for my car on the spot a couple times in 1988, I paid $20K for it in early 1984)

OTOH, a 4 year old donor Fiero for maybe $5K plus the cost of the kit, whatever that cost, and you had an ersatz 7/8 scale 308 look alike for 1/4 the price, and no 30K mile expensive tuneups.

I don't think that the Meras came with Ferrari logos originally. Mera Fieros have a interesting story. Only 247 were made in 1987-1988 and they were priced in the mid-20s. Ferrari sued and the Mera was no more. One could argue that these are pretty rare and therefore collectible.

I know that the Mera did not have any Ferrari logos and that is good. These were made to look something like a 308 and do have an interesting history. I have no problem with that. What I don't like is some one building a replica and calling it a Ferrari or Lambo. I have seem many that were trying to pass a knock off for the real thing. I am a fan of lots of cars and home built cars. I just feel the logos of real cars should be left off.

The one in my neighborhood back late 1980's had ALL the Ferrari logos and horsies and emblems on it. I always suspected the owner did that, as no way would that fly with the legal consult of whoever made the thing.

When I first saw the car, I had to stop and look and figure out why it didn't look quite right.

At first, not too bad, but the wheels and stubby side proportions say something's wrong.

Um, what???? this is a 1982 FIERO - with 110k MILES. A 'real' Fiero in those years....??? a REAL FERRARI was hardly a real fiero. If it were 1982 or 1983 you MIGHT have a point for Fiero being cheap. Yeah, a real sports car might cost a lot more than a pimped out Pontiac. Yep. Ya got a point THEN. You do NOT have a point in 2009!

Have another hit on me :D Glad someone is smoking something fun .... :D Haven't done
so myself since, well, about 1982.

she is one of the better looking poser-mobiles for 10k. No self esteem wannabe car, it's cheap. And according to the original brochures they're "triple sanded"...ooh ya!

So you buy this FIEORRARI for only $10,000 but what the hell do you tell the chicks when they start to inquire?

Baby there is something I gotta tell you.....you know my Magnum PI car.....I don't know how to say this.......well its really a Pontiac!

A PONTIAC? HOW COULD YOU LIE TO ME? I TOLD ALL MY FRIENDS YOU HAD A FERRARI! NOW I FIND OUT THAT IT IS A TRANS-AM!

Actually its more like a Fiero....The Trans-am's little brother!

A FIERO? LET ME GUESS......YOU ARE NOT REALLY A DOCTOR EITHER?

Anyone willing to spend 5 figures on this or even a Mera needs to see Dr. Phil first.
