Don't see many green ones. Here is one thats been for sale for a while: http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/7/8/81901778.htm ***Hey forum moderator, since these cars are so unusual why don't we have a "sticky" titled "For Sale" where we can post links to cars we know are up for sale? I'll start it if you say its ok***
I was interested in this car last year and made an enquiry with a number of questions, some of which were answered. I got no reply to my follow-up email. So I left it. Aidan
That car is located in my home town, and when I called about it LAST YEAR, I kind of expected a reply. I never got one. Ran into the dealership owner, who had the car with him, at a car show perhaps 6 months ago. I related my story to him, and he acted surprised. Told me he had hired someone to answer the phone, and they were supposed to relay messages to him. After looking at the car, though, I'm glad I never heard back from the guy. The car was rough, had a bad dash, and some tacky aftermarket sunroof.
Probably one of the least effective ads you could imagine for a 400i. Didn't seem to mention the after market sunroof. This is a perfect reason why good cars in this series are way undervalued. There may be a few hundred in the States, but really, given the neglect that many have been subject to over so many years, how many really are worthwhile owning? If you find a good one now, buy it quick. You will not be sorry because they WILL increase in value. John
Saw this car today, AGAIN, at a car show, still being sold by the same dealer in my town. He doesn't seem the least bit concerned that he fails to return phone calls, and cannot sell the car! BTW, the chrome wheels really look bad!
