    Hey all,

I've been having a wierd problem with my '82 lately, so here's a brief rundown of symptoms:

Two weekends ago, drove car to Detroit and back, 800 miles, not one hiccup.

That following week the car intermittently cut out on me with no warning. Fired right back up both times.

Couple days ago, the car cut out and took a few minutes before it would restart, but eventually fired right up like nothing happened.

Yesterday, washed the car, went to move it back inside and it wouldn't start at all. Fiddled with some wiring behind the relay panel, particularly around the fuel pump relay, then swapped relays with another 113 relay and boom, fired right up.

Today: Car cut out again, wouldn't restart for any amount of fiddling with electricals, swapping relays, etc....Car flatbedded back to garage. Now?

So can someone elaborate on the infamous fuse/relay board problems? Any other areas (flywheel sensors, etc..) that could be pointed to? Obviously I can start at square one here but if there are any known trouble areas to go to first, I'd appreciate some direction so I can get my baby back on the road as soon as possible!

It seems to me there is an issue somewhere in the electrical side of the fuel delivery system. Any particular areas that wiring is known to go bad, other than in the engine bay?

    Cheers,
    Aaron

This sounds like a pump relay problem. The injection system is timed so that it pressurises the system, this is controlled by what looks like a relay but is actually a timer.

Had this problem before on Bosch injected cars and everytime there is a little resistor burnt out within the "relay". The relays are expensive, but the resistor can be replaced on the board if your good with a soldering iron.

I could be wrong of course but this is exactly what happened to me!

    Bullfighter,
    Thanks for the recommendation!

Aaron, thanks for the fuseblock order. They will be in the mail today!

Another victim of the infamous crappy 308 fusebox leaving someone stranded. Like I always say, there are two kinds of 308 OEM fuseblocks:

Those that have left you stranded, and those that will!
