Thanks Bigtex......I guess I'll have to ask for a credit-line increase on my Grand Union and Blockbuster cards to pay for all of this......

Hey jrg1 I got the cam belts, tensioners ,v.c. gaskets and a few other things for $3400 labor and about $700 parts , 12 k for belts is alot , you could get alot of brake work and other stuff for that amount. Any one else out there think 4100 is o.k. for this

The Boxer is a classic, and a stable value as well.

They are expensive to feed.........it helps to keep the service coupons current.

Doing 'catch up' on deferred ones is not fun, or inexpensive. Months and mileage wait for no man!

There's a Boxer Section down there \/ \/ \/, they chat alongside us 308GTB guys!

Welcome to the site, you guys!

I've noticed it seems like a little more expensive labor up there, but parts is parts......

I'm curious, how many of these bearings would you say on average fail? Is it really because of the bearing that you take the engine out, or is it more of a "time for a major so we might as well" situation?

I ask b/c there is a huge discussion on the Nick Forza 4.0L thread about the drive bearings and the proposed replacements being roller bearings instead of ball bearings.
