There are a few things I need some input on from anyone who can help. First it looks like the seats have been raised from the original position for some short italian to see over the steering wheel. Can anyone show me a close-up of their BB seat track, side view at the front. Mine has little uprights off the seat track frame (welded on) and bloted to the seat frame raising it around 2 inches. Is this right or should I cut the things off and lower the seat? The seat is too high for me, I hit my head on the roof when I drive.

Secondly, the front flash to pass clear lights mounted under the bumper are not at the very edges of the grille opening, they are inboard slightly and have cooling ducts in the corners making the grill shorter than an 84 I saw. Is this a minor difference between 83's and 84's?

Finally, the car has a ferrari radio and EQ with the little horses on them. There is a black plastic box in the glovebox with a toggle switch on it, a knob and 2 lights. It plugs into a socket on the underside of the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Is this stereo related? Cant seem to make it do anything.

    Thanks,

    Paul.

Another question, in the rear corners of the lower panel behind the rear wheels there are empty spaces. The frame section that surrounds this area has mounting tabs for something. Is this a carry over from the 365BB chassis or am I missing some expensive part? Im at work so I cant post pics of what Im talking about.

    Thanks.

You are missing the exhaust resinators! Do a search under BBi exhaust.

I thought it might be exhaust related but looking at the exhaust system that is there, it looks to be complete, its an ansa as well. Thanks.

Most likely an aftermarket Ansa. All BBIs came with the same 4 can exhaust.

    Hi Paul,

If this is the car Steve had for sale. The seats have been modified from stock.
Not sure about the tracks but the side bolsters have been extended.

The front brake ducts are also modified. Boxers did not have brake ducts to the outside of the passing lights.

The socket under the dash was for the supplied remote utility light.

    Looks like a beautiful car.

Here's a schematic of the complete "stock" Euro exhaust system for a Boxer.

The two side resonators (part # 2 & #3) are not used with a two canister "sport" exhaust muffler system.

Made a deal on the car you purchased and could not finalize due to unwanted liability by some individuals.

I reasearched the quircks you mention and some information are posted here:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59732&page=1&pp=20

The seat can be lowered but as you indicated the railing attachements have to be modified.

As for the fog light location and break ducting it was done by Ferrari as a custom option (same as the seats with the extra bolstering for that matter) from what I recall of the research I did on it last spring.

First Class car... If your sick of it when I can import it in the US (Jan 07) let me know!

    Hope this helps.

Wow, Im shocked but glad I didnt hear any bad stuff about it. First Im sorry it fell through for you, I would be very disappointed in your position. You have answered a lot of questions I had, thanks too for the one who posted the exhaust pics as well as all the nice compliments from you all. Very helpful. I wondered about the bolstering as well but was saving that for another thread. The Plug Im refering to is a 6-7 pin round plug with a matching connector on the black box with the knob and switches. The other socket beside the wheel is for the light, a small cigar type socket. I was glad to see all the tools, and papers came with the car as well, the e-testing and so on is all there. The boxer paint is growing on me so I plan to leave it as is, just take care of it and hold onto it. If I did plan to sell it I feel like I should give you first refusal. The car is truely first class, the more I look at it the more positive things I find as well as hear from yourself. Thankyou very much glh for filling me in on some pretty important details.

    Paul,

It sounds like some sort of aftermarket component has been added. My car has the factory Pioneer cassette/radio and EQ (complete w/manuals) and there's nothing like you mention, in my glovebox.

Nice boat, too bad you have a Porsche though. I was just refering to the deal falling through and you being disappointed perhaps, not your financial situation, maybe you misunderstood.

Someone mentioned the two can sport exhaust had the middle tanks but lacked those on the side. Could someone send a pic of that? I guess they used the same parts, but made pipes that went directly out the back instead of into the resonators. The reason I ask is that I have the four can stystem and want it to be a bit louder, which eliminating the resonators may do.

I have a guy that can fabricate the pipes I need, but I would like to know how it sounds vs. the four can first.

    Thanks
