Could somebody answer me if the #830 275p2 destroyed at Monza test in may65 is the same car that run Monza 1000km (62) and Targa-Florio (202)? Tks, Nunes Attached the NART #838 at Daytona 2000Km/65, the P2 debut. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Targa, Monza 1965, #826 or #830 ??? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It seems very unlikely. Two cars were destroyed at Monza in April and May of 65. 0824 #66 crashed in April killing Tommy Spycharger. The remains of this car went to Pierre Bardinon, on to Violati and ultimately to Piper. Two versions of 0824 were built/rebuilt by Piper. It looks very much like the 330 P's - 0818, 0820 and 0822 that proceeded it. One of they dubbed a P1 by piper is currently offered for sale. 0830 was crashed at Monza in May killing the driver Deserti. This car has not resurfaced definitivly. It is rumored that the remains were used to construct the Chinetti Tri Posto Center seat car, #08971. I would guess that #62, with Bandini and Vacarrella driving would either be 0826 or 0832. Both began life as 275 P2 and were converted by Drogo to 365 P2/3 specification. #202 Scarfiotti and Parkes at the Targa looks to be either 0836 or 0838. I would lean toward 0836, as Parkes later drove this car at LeMans.
The NART#838 now in Bridgehampton 500km with Rodriguez and the Maranello Concessionaries #826 action at Reims 12hrs 1965. The 275P2 #830 not run?? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
