Hay guys. The bbi I acquired a bit ago has these two parts missing. The first is a distributor shield and the other is a rain guard (flat panel?). I'm trying to restore the car back to original and need these parts. If someone could take pictures and measurements It would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to buy them but no lick so far so If I have to I'll make them.

    Thanks
    Barry .

I think you can still get the distributor shield. Mine is currently off the car (removed when I did the EFI conversion). It's a bit weathered, but I can take pics / measurements for you if you need them. I personally think they add a nice touch of bling to the engine when freshly plated.

So far I've only seen one for sale for an outrages price on Ebay. None of the major suppliers I use have it. Some say made to order but won't provide time frame and I'll make one before I pay $1,000.00 for it. It would be great if you could measure it. Material and dimensions would be appreciated.
Do you have the rain shield also?

I don't have the rain shield – must've gotten lost by a previous owner. Do you have any CAD software? If so, I can 3D scan the distributor shield and send you the file (obj, step, stl, etc.). Otherwise, I can take a few caliper measurements for you.

Regarding material (I don't have it in-front of me), I am pretty sure it's relatively thin mild steel that has been zinc plated with yellow chromate.

No problem. I've been meaning to scan that part anyway. I've been making a habit of scanning basically everything that has a part number. I think this part is in storage, so it might take a few days to grab it and scan it.

The water shield is a composite moulded panel that looks like it has glass fibers in it for reinforcement. If no one steps up sooner, I can post pics and take measurements of the one I have at my shop.

Better than nothing. They had to add the shield because the outer row of louvers were made much wider than the carb'd car after moving the black covers closer together on the injected version. This exposed the distributor to outside water.
