Jon, First love of my life in the exotic car world besides the black countach in canonball run was an all black 308qv in a poster showing a brick warehouse building behind. Still on my bucket list. So I feel your connection. Fun to follow each post! Robb
I've never bought or sold anything to Tony. He's sort of a character to be sure but I've met him in person and spent a morning at his shop. If you ever spend time with him, you can see that he's not for everyone but he is a good guy. He knows a lot and has nice stuff. I wouldn't have an issue buying anything from him but I am one of the more educated buyers out there so I know what to look for. I think that a lot of people who disparage him don't know or have never dealt with him directly.
Agree 100% The 328 may be a "better" car, but the 308 GTSi is timeless in it's look. Love the pointed nose and the matte black louvers on the front bonnet. When you look up Ferrari in the Dictionary, there should be a picture of a red/tan 308 GTSi. IMHO
OMG! I had that same poster on my wall of my bedroom when I was in hight school and when I took it to all my dorm rooms in college. As a matter of fact, it is still hanging in my bedroom wall in my mom's house from that time. And I eventually ended up owning a black/tan, '85 Lambo Countach like in the Cannonball Run movie that I purchesed from Gary Bobileff. I used to fly up and down the 15 freeway early on the weekend mornings, reliving that opening scene from the movie in my head. Man, if I had only kept that car!
Are we all living parallel lives? I have THAT poster in my garage now. Friend of mine bought it for me (made me pay him back of course, but its the thought that counts among broke college students in the early 80s!) If you stare at it long enough - and believe me I have - you'll note that is not even a female, or human for that matter, but some studio lookalike prop. Must've been a way around the censors way back when!
It's an official "bubble" IMHO 1989 Used Ferrari Testarossa at Fort Lauderdale Collection South Serving Ft LAUDERDALE, FL, IID 12800482 Joe
What a bargain! CarFax says this car is worth $160 under retail- probably due to the outstanding factory seat belt recall. Does the leather on those seats look a bit stretched?
Yes, that is absurd. But they got mentioned here and probably elsewhere by asking four or five times what the car is worth.
Glad to see you are looking for one again Jon!! I shall be anxious to see which car you end up with! PDG
Jon, In honor of your search for another Ferrari 3x8, I went and bought a new one myself this weekend.
I don't want to hijack Jon's thread (too late, right?). Check my thread (that you created) in the morning for all of the juicy details.
I appreciate the bump. If you want to post the day-by-day history of the car over several weeks, feel free to do so here. It's not like it's every month you post on a new 328. (It's almost like that, but not quite.)
Riiiight! Said like Kronk! I actually think this is it for you and a perfect end to the story. Jon - how is your search going? I haven't seen much out there. Robb
This was happening in early Fall too. Well maintained, nice, no stories 328 are more rare than I thought. -F
