maybe coils have to be inspected...wire coming out and goes to distributor. There have to be a pin inside the coil cilinder that keeps that wire in place. Often this pin dissappears (burned) and you dont notice it...just misfire once in a while.

    Fred,
FIRST CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING HER RUNNING!

imo from above , a clog in the fuel pump means some crap probably made it to the injectors

sounds like the car sat for awhile

recommend put in gas additive to clean fuel injectors -double it up (I use lucas) for a few tanks

    then drive it!

over in the Mondial section you will read Rapalyea's threads about the more he drove the better it got (he uses 2cycle additive)

Thanks for the all of your input. Before she stopped I had added Marvel Mystery Oil to the tank (and sump). Online advice was that this was an old reliable additive to lubricate and clean the fuel system with the concern that crud (technical term) stuck to the fuel system might be released. I'm wondering if that is what happened. And yes, she sat for several years (probably more than 4) which partially accounts for the low mileage (27K). Lucas it is....
