84' QV on Ebay... questions...

The VIN ("b") and the engine (no FV) say it is a euro308QV, but no mention of DOT/EPA papers (important) or what US mods (if any) were done (which can be important if you really need to have them -- i.e., adding Lambda control to the FI system won't be cheap/easy if you must).

Front spoilers get damaged and replaced, and wheels are often swapped (and 390mm are a negative IMO), but maybe stock for a euro 308QV (they really didn't even have model years back then for the euros).

But, d*mn, that 308GTB coachwork is beautiful.

 

Looks Euro to me - even has the French yellow fog lights. It has the U.S.-spec side markers, maybe from being federalized.

If Tim Stanford serviced it, maybe someone in the Florida section knows the car. Tim has a good reputation.

Make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection, check the history, etc. before buying it.

Has the 16 wheels and the deep front spoiler,these are rare and very desireable models.They will probably be bid into mid or high $30s,but the reserves are in the $40s which is awfully strong money these days.IMHO these are the best to own,drive and when the time comes,sell.

 

Neither of these cars appear to have either the 16" wheels or the deep front spoiler. Which strikes me as especially odd, considering the original car in this thread is supposed to be a Euro car (and I thought they all had that....). The Rosso Rubino car (w/ KS plates) is a US car, so it naturally would not have the deep front spoiler. Unfortunately, so much that is visibile has been neglected (broken tail light, broken mirror control knob, lost battery cover....), I'd be worried about what's *not* visible.

I'm currently helping a friend "tidy up" his euro qv, and just in the simplest of stuff, he's into 4 figures. So please think long and hard about what "serious" stuff might cost!
