My theory of the crime: Thieves trying to get at the catalytic converter cut out the sway bar, gave up, then took the drop link as a trophy.

Oh, and THEN it fell off a 2 story building and and got jumped over a creek.

Did not make it across the pond, fell short.

On a large rock at the edge of water.

    Then slid into the water.

I'm trying to be good and not get into the price as I'm sure a lot of you are sick of all the price threads and I really am curious as to what happened to this car I mean I've seen a lot of 308's with needs but this one just looks like something very strange happened to it.

I really don't think it's all that bad, looks like they drove it and not big on maintenance Ha!
Don't get the suspension issue, maybe they needed to change a wheel bearing, got over their head and just decided to dump the car? Priced very aggressively for what you get to start with IMHO.

I like that phrase "priced very aggressively" I was surprised at the asking price as this dealer isn't usually priced over market but who knows maybe he will get a buyer like I said before I didn't want to rant about the price but the thought did cross my mind is this where the market is now. About a year ago or so I looked at an 85 gtsi with a bit over 5k orig. miles on it and the dealer who had it does tend to "price aggressively" was asking 55k for it.

I believe it is but not 100% sure. I have gathered he is very particular about originality from conversations we have had and a good guy to boot. He would be able to answer with more certainty.

If you wanted it, it was available (for a price). Euro cars had all kinds of unusual color combos and interior colors. Probably because those customers ordered exactly what they wanted vs. US customers taking pretty standard order combinations, or not being offered the choice to build something totally custom.

all red interiors, brown dashes, cream seats with red piping and red carpets, it was all done at the factory.

(And most of it pretty hideous when deviating too far from one interior color with a contrasting dash and armrests :)

I've never seen a red on red QV, but many years ago I did see a red on red carbed 308GTS.
Also, as you may recall I have one of the "rare/odd" (depending on if people's tastes) factory interior configurations on my 328, AFAIK its the only one like it. So the odd color combos although rare do exist.

So I'm thinking if this car had landed on it's nose or it's rear the quarters would of crinkled at least a little bit but they don't appear to be all the damages look to be underneath. I'm thinking it was maybe on a flatbed and came loose and rolled off.

With wheels like that, I'm wondering how they managed to turn the car around between the first and second shot. Is that rear wheel is on the hub properly? The expansion tank looks like it's held a few bars too much pressure.

If you put a go-jack under the left front and right rear wheel on this car I would think you would be able to move it around. One of the rear wheels does indeed look like it is not even on the hub.
