    Greetings All,
I think I may need to either replace or rebuild my master brake cylinder and brake booster. Price for a new one is out of site. Does anyone know if a part from a different manufacturer has one that will fit [Fiat maybe?]. I couldn't find anything in the cross-reference thread, so I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Call Ray Cook at Power Brake of Pompano. He rebuilt my booster/master assembly a few years ago. Did a great job quickly and for a reasonable price. Has worked flawlessly for the 20,000 miles since :)

I have a detailed blog on removal/re-installation of the unit that I can send you a link to. Mine is an 84. Shouldn't be too much difference between them. Don't know for sure though, I haven't seen an 85 in person.

Thank you sir. I actually spoke with Ray yesterday, and he gave me the price info. $300 + shipping is VERY reasonable [beats $2700 to replace it]. I also made some phone calls to the Pac NW, and got info and names for people to rebuild all 4 brake calipers and make SS brake lines for it as well. Looks like about $750 will do it all. That's reasonable. Now all I have to do is take everything out, send it out, get it back and and pout it all together! In the meantine, if you can send me the link to remove/install it, that would be really helpful. Once that's done, then it's time for 30K service.

It wouls still be very interesting to know if there is an alternative brake pump that might fit. I will need to do something with my brake pump, as the pedal goes down if you keep your foot on it.. No idea of who can do the repair you mention in Europe..
    Thanks..

THank you. Has anyone removed their power brake booster? How difficult is it to do? The master cylinder should not be too hard. Thanks.
