Car looks damned clean though. BTW dosen't 7,400 seem a little steep for service on a 308?

Yale professor? I'm surprised he's not publishing his gas fill-up log through the university press.

He could have taken a break from his writing long enough to repair that banged up front spoiler, treated the leather on the seats and re-powdercoat the flaky intake casting.

Can't tell what it's for, but it's obscenely expensive for a routine service. I'd guess there are some repairs on the bill as well.

Yep, metric wheels, and I don't know WHY you'd start an ad for a 308QV talking about the fibreglass 1976 cars!

"Yea, I want you to meet this girl, see...she's OK, but her older sister was MISS TEXAS 1977!!!!!!"

Geez, save me from eBay Fcar hyperbole............PLEASE!

So, throw it out there, dstacy! We are merciless on here, when it comes to ebay advertising! ROTFLMAO!

Obviously YOU didn't buy it! Good Call! 390mm wheels suK!

I never believe any "really high" bid that is below the reserve. To me it just means the seller had his buddies bid it up to right below the reserve. These vechiles rarely meet reserve & sell.

Car has 16 in. wheels on it. Just list metric in text.

Does seem high for 29K mile car.

How about sharing your observations here for us all? I'm interested.

They sure went nuts with the tire & bumper wet look! Surprised they didn't repaint the plenum. Otherwise it looks very clean from the pics but it would be great to get the 'in-person' observations.

I'm not a big fan of "blind siding" people. I did go look at this car about 3 weeks ago. So I'm fair I'll state the facts of what I saw and keep my opinions to myself...

    1) Front tires are original but the rears are bald...how do you make rears bald?
    2) Front spoiler is chipped and nicked badly (doesn't show all the damage in the pictures)
    3) When I saw the car 3 weeks ago the 30k service had NOT been done.
    4) Rust and corrosion on the fuel distributor & engine mount.
    5) Paint peeling on radiator, intake, and various other places.
    6) Interior dirty and uncared for.
    7) Running on 4 or 5 cyl when I started it and the owner knew it.
    8) The man I met who was the owner of the car was not a prof @ Yale, he worked in the oil biz here in Houston.

When I go look at a 29k miles car I expect to see a car in close to new condition; I did not see that in this car.
When the owner asked me what I thought, my response was, "It looks like it has been ridden hard and put away wet."
