Sorry there maybe thread on this already I didn't see. My A/C has been working ok till lately. Checked and no freon. Started to fill the system and the front seal on the compressor is leaking badly. Been trying to find a replace Sanden compressor SD507 with a single v belt groove. Maybe I an can reseal mine if I could find the right seal and the shaft is not grooved. Any help with that. Do you think it came from the factory with this compressor and bracket set up. I find a Sanden compressor SD507 with a double pulley. Can't read the other Sanden numbers. Anybody know if that will work and fit? Could I switch out the clutches? Any help is appreciative.

You can interchange clutches and cylinder heads on SD 507's.
There could be Issues with getting it repaired if its not repaired with genuine parts, especially the mechanical seal. If your still using R 12, the oil will also need replacing to go over to R134a.
The Sanden replacement for this compressor (R134a) is the SD7H13.

Definitely looks like the original aircon compressor in it. :)

I seem to remember that the Sanden compressor (any compressor) on a Ferrari 308/328 series turn in the reverse direction because the way the compressor is mounted to the engine with the pulley facing the engine and not away from the engine. That limits the number of compatible units to very few choices.

Sanden SD5's can be rotated in either direction. Not sure about Chinese after market rip off's.

You might contact Klimakit.com; they make a variety of good AC parts for European cars, and they sell Sanden compressors and are familiar with the various Sanden models. I don't have a dog in the hunt, here, but I did buy parts for AC in a different car and their parts are very well made, mostly in USA and NOT in China.

Maybe its time to upgrade. I was able to buy a bracket that allowed me to use a current model Toyota Compressor that is designed for R134. I now get real air-conditioning.

Can you provide a link to the vendor and bracket you purchased?

Thanks for the information. I bought a 508 and it’s longer. Really tight fit against the gas tank. So I ended up just buying a seal kit. Changing out the compressor is the hardest part about putting timing belts in so since I had it out, I went ahead and put timing belt in. They were only three years old but now it’s done for a while again .I am now ready to evacuate it down and recharge with our 12. I bought a four seasons dryer number 33444. It has no error on it to tell me which direction to install it. Can someone help me and tell me if I have an installed the right direction?

Thanks for the picture. The drier that was in the car was marked. My new one had nothing on it. So I evacuated the system and charged it up with R12 I must have it hooked up the right way because I get bubbles in it for a little bit when I got close to 2 pounds the site Glass cleared up. Do yourself a favor and run a hot wire from the battery to your inside blower motor.. feel the difference on how hard the blow motor blows. then start the car up and feel how much harder it blows yet. Remove the vents in the lower dash they just pull straight out. A little hard to get out. Then feel how much airflow you have then. If you like how hard it blows, you need to hook up a relay that gives the juice directly from the battery to the blow motor. You should have around 13.6 to 14.5 volts to the blower motor. I’m getting 35 degrees coming out.
