Hey, F chatters, I've been a lurker here for some time and my dad and I might finally be a part of the F car family, but before he signs the papers, we wanted me to come on and ask you guys for little things we might be overlooking on the car, as we have never had a Ferrari before. The car is a '85 Mondail Cab QV so are there any glitches, recalls, problems with that year, or anything else like that? Thanks for the help.

    Welcome to the family!
There are many really good threads on what to look for available by using the search function using such tewrms as 'Mondial' and 'buying'. While the usual Ferrari caveats apply (timing belts, maintenence records etc) I'll summarize a couple of points to check about Mondials specifically:
    1. The electrical system
    2. The electrical system
    3. The electrical system
    and finally,
    4. The electrical system

I would start with making sure EVERY switch worked doing what it is supposed to do, and cycle it several times. The other thing I would look at closely is the fuse box (lots of threads on this for sure). Look at all of the connectors and condition of the clips that hold the fuses. A popular place for some fuseboxes to have burn-out problems is the fuel pump power feed through the white vertical electrical connector on the inside side of the fuse box (see below).
Some Mondials have had their 'bullet fuse' boxes upgraded to the later spade type used in the later 3.2s. THIS IS VERY GOOD.

Anyway, the Modialisti on the board are a a great group on FChat about sticking together, and there is always a lot of help from us and some of the other 308 guys as well.

Be careful, and hope it works out! Don't be in a hurry!

Would also suggest that it is spelled 'M O N D I A L' as opposed to the more democratic sounding 'Mondail'. :)
