OK, Obsessive detail item 2. I am looking for a 1985 308GTS QV Euro spec owners handbook. (I have a perfect yet incorrect 84 U.S. handbook FYI). I have looked all over the forums, clubs, googled etc., and they seem to be un-obtainable. Anyone??? Thanks, -Luigi
Luigi, you are looking for ALMOST unobtainium. Dare not say the price i paid for one, count it, ONE i found after months of looking for an original, very good condition Euro spec book. Basically, it seems the book is cat# 248/82 n.2500. Yes, that means 1982 as best i can tell the model did not change, unlike the USA counterpart. You might want to post a advertisement within the Ferrari Market Letter, as my source was PAINFUL $$$ and based out of Florida.
Luigi, I also share your quest! Here's a pic of my reprint front and back. Unfortunately, it's seen hard use. Here's info on Mar Parts Ltd. http://www.touchwatford.com/business/list/bid/772440 When you give them a call, tell them I want one also! According to concours rules, reprints are acceptable. In another post, the car is mentioned as a 1985 Swiss model, so 286/83 308 QV Swiss owners book is probably the one to find. Having never seen this book, I don't know if it is an addendum to the '82 manual or complete. The Florida source sold out to a NY gentleman. He can be contacted through eBay using the nunzio828 userid. Good luck in finding what you need. Regards, Kerry
Thanks all, keep the info coming. And Michael, I am now looking for 2 as you requested. I'll keep you posted. -Luigi
I have tried both numbers I found for MAR Parts, LTD. 01784486643 01923221144 One is disconnected, one is another business. Anyone know if these guys are still around?
Marparts sells their reproduction items through Ferrari UK (http://www.ferrari.co.uk/). Regards, Kerry
The link is bad. Should be: http://www.ferrari.co.uk/ I cannot find anything on this site related to manuals. Anybody have an email address for these guys. There is no contact info on the site.
Here's another way to get to UK Ferrari parts: http://www.ferrariparts.co.uk No email address, but a contact form instead. Regards, Kerry PS, sorry about the last bad link. The message board software didn't handle the link properly.
Michael -- This is why you need to get registered at www.owners.ferrari.com (which is where that ferrariparts.co.uk link directs you) so that you can access the "Car Manuals" and the "Classic Parts" sections. For comparison, also have a look at: http://www.ferraribooks.com/308_qv (which has a lot of good info and can sometimes help just identify things that might be useful).
My records show there was a later book 342/85 - they sometimes come up on Ebay - if Ferrari Classic Parts UK do not have an original they should have the official Marparts (= Maranello Parts at Egham) reprint
Have you tried Mr. Jack Habits at ************? He has quite a few, and furthermore is "over there" could maybe track it down..... Some confusion here as some are posting the service manual and others the Handbook......... The Factory site is kind of crazy, as I have registered my two 1977s that's all they will give me ...the '77 update! Not the big book which is actually a 1976, thankfully I have both sets. Good luck!
They do exist! I found a 248/82 on EBay for $60 from a woman in Hong Kong. It's in really nice condition. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Locating the physical book can be tricky, but like Steve said, if you just need the INFO you can download it for free in .pdf format from the Ferrari owners site. Birdman
I bought literature from a dealer in the UK. He had all the books including the owners handbook, dealer locator, and warranty card. They were in mint condition and i paid for it! i am traveling in Europe on biz, when I get back I will PM you the details. I cannot remember that name of the guy. Just his first name which is mine so I could not forget that, Paul......... Good luck, be patient it will happen. I waited 4 years to get replacement euro qv mirrors and they showed up on Ebay a few weeks ago. Paul
http://www.racecar.co.uk/paulbaber/index.htm Here is the website, They are showing a QV handbook Lou. Paulo
Tnx Paolo, and they're asking only £200.00, that's ~$360 US!!! - I want one, but not that badly... I'd go up around $100 or so, but that's my limit. My '82 Euro GTS QV came with '82 GTSi manuals. My suspicion is that that's what shipped with the car, but I can't prove it(no history).
no prob Verell. I ended up paying a small ransom for all the correct books. $1000 worth. The previous owner of my car promised to send them to me , but that never happened! Incidently he is a F-chat member and an attorney who has a history of making promises that never get delivered. Lesson to be learned for the my next Ferrari purchase. Paul
