Any advice greatly received! I went for a drive today but the car would not start. the battery is fine and the starter motor is working fine but the engine just will not fire up. My car is a Euro model GTB and had a full service 6 months (1500 miles) ago. I tried bump starting it in reverse and first but this made no difference. I drive my 308 fairly regularly; last time out was a couple of weeks ago. Never had any problems before, it has always started first time. Any ideas where to start diagnosing the problem guys? Peter
Start with the basics. Pull a spark plug. Is it wet? (i.e. getting fuel). Is there a spark when you crank it? The car just needs fuel, air and spark (at the right time) to run. One of those three is missing and it's not likely to be air. So that narrows it to two. Birdman
Birdman, Thanks for the advice. I checked plugs (looked good) then wondered why I could not smell fuel so checked the relay and fuse for the fuel pump. Guess what, the 16A fuel pump fuse had corroded/blown finally, so switched another 16A fuse and she fired up straight away! I don't have a spare 16A fuse so I now have an 8A fuse for the heater - guess if the load is too big it will just blow. Clearly time to switch to your fuse block!! Peter
Isn't it great when it's easy! I had the same problem afew weeks ago with my 85 mondial only it was a relay issue!
