Hi there. I'm trying to sort out precisely what's been modified on my 328's AC system. I think that the vent opening in the console has been cut. Does anyone have a good closeup of that vent area, both with the vents in and also removed? I'm particularly trying to see the support structure behind the vents. I'm added a pic of the area I'm talking about. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, it does. My car's missing that center vertical between the vents. When you get a chance, can you tell me how that's attached? Gracias
Tillman, The surround (around the vents) looks like it is all one piece. I can't tell for sure because of the leather (?) covering it. There is a seam at the top of the vertical surround, but it just appears to be a seam in the leather covering.
Given how well the 328 AC system blows through the vents you probably DO NOT want to restore to original... I am trying to figure out what other type of vents would look OK and yet actually let some airflow through. I do not want to leave the hole open. My A/C worked fine this weekend but would not exit the left vent... good thing the one over the footwell worked well, at least my feet didn't burn up.
Take the vent and hose apart, it is probably clogged up with foam from the condenser. check my post here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64526
