My 87 TR would not start when I was out in Houston. The pumps were on as we felt the relays when cranking and could feel them clicking. We pulled a spark plug wire and could see no spark. I had it towed home and after it was unloaded I tried to start it and it started right up.

Any suggestions before I start studying those terrible wiring diagrams?

    Thanks in advance.

Did not turn over at all? Original starter motor? They are notorious for getting overheated and the solenoid sticking. I have had this issue many times. Once the starter cools down it fires right up. Could this be your issue?

With no spark on both banks during starter motor cranking, my first (and easiest) suspect would be the (flaky) 4-pin round connector for the flywheel sensors under the coolant expansion tank -- try just unplugging it and remating it (to rewipe the connections) before calling the tow truck next time ;)

I was not clear in my original post. The car cranked fine but did not fire. I long ago put a relay at the starter so the starter solenoid gets a full 12 volts.
Steve, I cleaned the connection you suggested. The car starts fine but I do not know if that was the problem. I tried tracing the light blue wires that show on the wiring diagram to come from the ignition switch to the fuse box but could not find two wires. Maybe my KE car only has one and the K drawing shows two. Anyway, the light blue wire I found on the drivers side connection in the fuse box showed 12+ volts in the run position and 10+volts on cranking. If that indeed was the ignition switch then that indicates my switch is good. I was checking to see if pole 15 from the switch was good on both run and crank.

I plan to take the TDC and other sensor out and clean them along with the connections.

Any more suggestions are greatly appreciated.
