Anyone familiar with this black Mondial Coupe for sale on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-FERRARI-MONDIAL-CINTI-OH_W0QQitemZ220543359077QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3359689865#full-history I can't seem to copy the pics. Its black with gray interior. Apparently lived in Georgia for ten years; its listed by a BMW dealer in Ohio who says it was traded on a 348. I like the color combo. and it looks to be in pretty good condition in the pics. The ad says 'new belts' and I've asked for receipts to see what was done. Any info. appreciated - Thanks!
I don't know the car, but I envy it's next owner. Wish I had the means to park it next to my 87 3.2 Cab.
Sure looks nice! It was for sale last September although I don't recall where. The first picture is from the current ad and the next two from the previous. I remember calling about this car when it was at a dealer in GA, but they had zero service history on the car, and couldn't tell me anything, so I passed, and found one from a private owner with 20 years of service records (on F-chat ads now), which proved to be a fantastic car. I highly recommend the 3.2 coupe, they are such bulletproof cars.
Tex, I sent you a PM about my Mondial 3.2. Its black metallic/tan with 25k on it. Has won 2 Platinum awards at FCA shows. Sunroof and A/C work along with everything else. I can email you pics.
The 88 Mondial 3.2 at the BMW Store was mine few a short months and miles. I deal a lot with the dealer and worked out a trade on a 1994 348 Spider and used them as the middle man. The lot I bought it from in October in Georgia knew little or nothing about the car. I found the name of the previous owner and contacted him. He was a Cardiologist in Georgia and had purchased the car from Ferrari of Washington DC ten years ago. Ferrari of Washington DC had done the 30,000 service and those records are included with car and involved a lot of work. The previous owner kept a log of all work he had done in his ownership and all was done by a private mechanic that worked on his cars and was well versed with Ferrari. The last belt service was at the five (5) year point when I purchase the car so I sent it to Bruce at Unique Automotive in Louisville, Kentucky, for belts and a going over. Bruce said the car was great and could not find anything, other than belts, to spend my money on, how rare is that. I also had a Kenwood (Ipod) stereo system and Viper alarm w/keyless entry installed as well as had the windows tinted and yoshields added. It does have the tool kit, jack kit and document wallet. It is a great car and I hated to trade it in, but my wife traded in my Boxster S for a black Z4 coupe and I wanted a top down ride back in the garage besides a fall to sleep in while driving Lexus SC430.
Good looking car. But the BMW store messed up a little in their talk about the car: "This 1988 FERRARI MONDIAL 3.2 with only 39,000 miles was just traded in on a 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider. This car is in outstanding condition with new belts, new vipor alarm and high-end sound system. It has a clean Carfax. It is a non-smoking car that was always garage kept and comes with the original owners manual, leather jacket and original tools and jack. The Mondial was produced from 1980 through 1993.It replaced the 208, 308 and GT4.The Mondial was produced in fairly high numbers for a Farreri, with more than 6,800 produced in its' 13 year run and was one of Ferrari's most commercially successful models. Today a Mondial represents one of the most affordable and usable Ferrari models. The Mondial version, along with its mechanical sibling, the 348, were the last production Ferrari cars in which a reasonably competent owner could carry out his or her own basic repairs and maintenance, such as oil, exhaust and brake work." The 3.2's sibling is the 328, not the 348. In any event, sounds like a really nice car.
