I am hopping to get some insight since i know allot of the people on here have great knowledge of these cars, some have even raced them.

I am currently looking at buying a new to me car, I have owned a 911sc for 4 years and loved it but found it was lacking in power. I have been watching a 87 930 with RUF intercooler and k27 turbo etc with 70,000 km on it. I was also turned on to the idea of a 88 Testarossa with 46,000km on it. I would like to know how they would perform next to each other as well as the reliability and expense of owning and running them. I would use them for around 5000 km per year on weekend runs, and for photoshoots as i am a pro photographer. I do not have a huge bank roll which is what scares me the most about the Ferrari, and at the same time i could make the most money off of it.........

If anyone wants to check out some of my work please feel free to take a look at my site www.vkcreative.com.

    Thank you

    I have a 77 930, 328 and 512BB

Their is a big difference in the 930 vs even the 328, the 328 is like a exotic race car toy, the 930 more practical and tough.

The Ferrari is much more fun, I went to a small town yesteday and was turning around in a bar parking lot and 2 women came running out asking questions about the car and offered to buy me a drink which I accepted, this doesn't happen in the 930 which i'll recieve compliments on it but not hysteria because it's a Ferrari.

The Ferrari I would describe as much more fragile, much easier to ding or damage it vs the 930 which is tough and robust, the Boxer is even more fragile than the 328 with very light aluminum bodywork which will dent if you breathe on it wrong, which are more for special occasions vs regular use,

The only answer is to have both

I really appreciate any feedback i can get. The things i hear are all the things i thought. The modified 930 is a monster when the turbos kick in, but the ferrari is a piece of art. A piece of art i can sell posters of, pictures with etc. My bigest concern is the big wallet situation. How much do they cost to maintain, how often do they break, is the clutch as week as the rumours say, etc.........
