I am looking for an alternative hose for the air box. It goes from the right side inlet scoop to the air box. The original deterioated away and is NLA from Ferrari.

    Any good ideas?

    TIA

Go to Home Depot and by a 4" rubber connector used for plumbing. It is about $5.00 and won't break down like the OEM. It even comes with clamps. I put one on my 328 as suggested by another F-Chatter. Works great. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight.

That does not work for an 89. But the solution can also be found in Home Depot if you still have the original hose. Remove all the breaking down foam. Buy a roll of 1/4 thick insulator tape, 2 inch wide, and tape around the mesh frame of the original hose. Then finish that off with grey duct tape, and you are good to go. It is not the most good looking solution, but it is in a place that is hidden away so ...

At one time, Ricambi was selling a black flex hose that I used on my 89. Not sure if they still sell it. Call Daniel at Ricambi.

Thanks for the correction. Out of curiosity what is the difference between the earlier models and the '89 in this regard?

I need one too. Ricambi sells the rubber boot that goes over the air box. But that boot attaches to a plastic piece and then the hose attaches to that. And goes to the side air scoop. My car had none of that. I purchased the rubber boot. And bought some silver flexible clothes dryer hose and stuck it in the boot and ran it to the air intake. I painted it black so its not as noticeable. Seems to work good. Hopefully its temporary. But I cant find any parts for it.

The earlier one has body air scoop -- hard rubber boot -- semi flexible insulated short hose -- air filter housing.

The 89 has body air scoop -- flexilble insulated twisted shape hose (that breaks down) -- air filter housing

When I purchased my 89 328GTS I had the rubber boot on back of the airbox and that was it. I purchsaed a replacement hose from Ricambi. It was not the original foam and screen that was changed in 89 but it looks and works great. Not sure why they changed the design in 89.

I contacted Ricambi and I am waiting on a reply. When I find something out, I will post the information.
