If a deal is too good to be true.................

    Must be some reason but.......

    Someone close should investigate further.

I'd want to see the actual records... but from what I can see it does indeed look like a great deal indeed.

But the starting bid is the same as the BIN price.

... just means the seller wants $34,200 - hit BIN and it's yours. Just bid and you'll have
to wait for the auction to end and risk potentially the price to go up. No need for a reserve
if the starting bid is good enough.

Wow. You must not be an auction person (eBay aside). "Buy It Now" means YOU BUY IT NOW!!!
Not at the END of the auction, but NOW. BIN = AUCTION ENDS NOW.
So if his asking price is $34,200 and you hit 'Buy it NOW' then the auction is OVER. NOW.

BUT if you hit 'Place Bid' and place a bid of $34,200 then the AUCTION IS NOT OVER!!! Other
folks can still bid it higher, until the END of the auction. It could then maybe go to $35k, or
$36k - until the actual moment the auction time ENDS according to the 'end of auction' time.
Entering a bid that is equal to the Buy It Now price (without hitting 'buy it now') essentially
EXTENDS the auction - once this happens, BIN is no longer an option to other bidders - it's now
'open bid' and anyone can trump your opening bid.

What THIS seller is saying is, "I would like $34,200 for my car" - BUT he's willing to take MORE,
by allowing people to BID without using Buy it NOW.

If he had started the bidding at say $100 with a RESERVE PRICE of $34,200, there is an EXTRA FEE
FROM eBAY for that - called a 'reserve fee' - this seller didn't want to have to pay that. IF, after
all the days of the auction, the 'final bid' was say $22k - well BELOW his Reserve, he wouldn't have
to sell. But the fee for this turns off a lot of sellers. It's not much, but some sellers don't like it
regardless. So they list a 'Bid Price' and 'Buy it Now' price that are close or the same, to avoid
this fee but still guarantee a sale price they can live with.

SO ... bottom line: THIS seller wants to sell his car for $34,200 - PERIOD. IF he should be lucky,
and someone would hit the 'bid now' instead of 'buy it now' buttons, he MIGHT be able to make
    more, but $34,200 is fine.

Understand? This is how ALL auctions work - not just eBay.... reply again if you still have trouble
    understanding what's going on here.

Jedi (Bought my own Ferrari by selling stuff on eBay - so I know of what I speak :D)

I'd call the seller and ask a few questions before I hit the "buy it now".

    Let me do some math........

    cost: 39,200.

    major service: 5000.

While you are at it's: 3000.

    New tires: 1000.

Total 48,200. for a 328 with 39K miles and accident history.

    I'll pass.

Note that even tho the seller claims the paint is great, he does -not- claim it's the -original- paint.
