Has this happened to anyone I am having an intermittent problem where my widshield wipers will not worki and am looking for suggestions (other than more RainX!!). 1. Last Friday, I had trickle charged the Ferrari battery with the shut-off switch in the off position disconnecting the battery from the rest of the car. 2. On Saturday morning, I disconnected the charger and turned the shut-off switch back to normal. At that time I opened the passenger door and the shoulder restraint motor was not working and the dome light was not on. 3. I thought I had made a mistake and turned the shut off switch in the opposite direction and the power did not come on. 4. I turned the shut-off switch again and power came back. 5. It was raining on Saturday but the rain wasnt heavy so I would periodically shut the wipers off and turn them on again as needed. 6. While driving in the rain for about 25 minutes the wipers would not come on again. 7. At a stop sign my wife jumped out to wipe the windshield. The door opened the shoulder restraint motor worked and then the wipers worked again. 8. About 20 minutes later they did not work. 9. After driving for about an hour we parked the car for two hours, started it and the wipers worked again for about 15 minutes. I dont know if there is any relationship between the shut-off switch, the dome light, shoulder restraint motor and the windshield wiper motor. Maybe one or several of these items are linked. Maybe none of them are. I do know that the headlights popped up and remained working the entire day. However, the windhsild wipers are not working consistantly. It is intermittent and difficul;t to diagnose. Any suggestions?
I suggest that you check the fuse box fuses AND the white connectors just in case. There are a few wizards on this site and one in particular will probably be able to give you a simple and very concise check procedure that hopefully leads to a fix. You could always try driving only in the sun HTH P
Wait, you admit to driving your TR in the rain?!? I had a similar problem but it was the turn signals. When the turn signals quit working I no longer had power to the mirror adjusters or the electronic glove box release. I could never figure it out - changed fuses, wiggled connectors, re-seated connections, etc. When my right radiator fan circuit finally gave up I sent the box to Scuderia Rampante - Dave Helms - and told him about my issues. He was able to diagnose the problem a coupld layers deep on the board but was able to execute a very reasonable (free) fix/workaround. I haven't had any problems since. Thanks again Dave! There is some connection to all these things you are having troubles with. Once the proper circuit is isolated you will be able to find a fix. I can't read schematics very well so I will leave that to others. Curtis
