stupidest thing i've read in a while. why wouldn't you crash a replica? they didn't actually total a 355 in The Rock or a 250GT Cali in FBDO. for a lot less than $300K you could build a replica that wouldn't possibly be discernable as a replica on film. doody.
I saw pics in the paper of two of them totalled, couldnt see any in the link though. Anyone got these pics?
With that funky lookin hood it looks like they were destroyed before they even left the factory..ZING!
on leftlanenews i found this posted, sorry if you think i stole your post, just tryin to help people here out They're not even real DBSes - the whole idea of being valued at $300,000 each is a crock. That figure only applies to actual production models. Like most every Bond picture car in recent years, these are mock-ups - like the Vanquishes destroyed in "Die Another Day", which were just bodyshells mounted to rear-drive V8 Explorer mechanicals, or the Z8 in "The World Is Not Enough", which was a mock-up bodyshell on an AC Cobra kit car chassis. Don't get suckered into crying over a PR stunt, guys Pete
Do Canadians always put the currency behind the number? I'm not gonna lie, the only reason I read the thread was because I thought 900k AM DBSs were destroyed.(I'm sitting pretty far back so I didn't really notice the money sign). When 900k cars go up in smoke, I'm always curious!
You might be right, but if my memory serves me right, they were V8 4wd with 3-speed autobox or something similar
