having received 2 9012 toshiba HIR bulbs and removed the headlamp on my 1995 UK right hand drive 355 i can confirm that there is no possibility of putting the toshibas in......maybe it's because my 355 is a UK model........because the bulb just pulls out of its grey molded socket which is permanently attached to the headlight casing........there are no tabs that attach the holder as in the toshiba............everyone told me that the fit is easy by cutting part of one of the toshiba tabs but it is a completely different type of housing I have on my car.........any comments from anyone about this?..........are the uk headlamps so different to the american ones???

If anything mate, the front glass lense maybe different. Different reflectors on the glass etc...:):)
(Have seen that before, not on Ferraris though so I cant confirm)

But I am sure the back of the light would be the same to take the same light bulbs the world over. :):)

The original bulb looks like an H1. Could be a Euro thing......

An owner of the 355/348 will have to confirm, but I believe the US cars use a 9006 for the low beam and a 9005 for the high.

Very different. This is a 9006, basically the same base as your 9012.

Not all is lost if you want better bulbs. The H1 is a really common bulb used in a lot of cars for both headlamps and fog/driving lamps. PIAA makes some uprated units, as well as some others. :)

Throw another H1 bulb in there and you will be right. :):)
