Question for the porschephiles. Whats a set of rebuilt original 904 front brake calipers worth? Thanks in advance.

Original 904 brakes are apparently the same as 356-C brakes, made by ATE.

So they are not a hard to find item.

That is one of the great things about old days at porsche... because they never had a lot of money to deal with but made a great impact.. most bits were interchangab between 356 / 550 /904 / even up to and past the first couple of 911 912 years there was cross over...

As it turns out they are 908 brakes. After a bit of research it looks like they were used on some 914-6's and 914-6 GT's and i suppose 908's but i dont know that for sure.

i had a 550 at one time [0048] and you would be surprised how much stuff wasn't actually 356 in origin tho the bits looked the same....[example..the interior door handles and dash grab handle looked 356 but instead of being diecast and plated they were cast aluminum and polished....brakes were different, the front rim offset was different, emergency brake handle, shift linkage, all hand made...it was like that all over.]...never should have sold that one....
