    Hi,

I have drivin ~700 miles on my 91 348TB in the last month. Today, for the first time I noticed a small puddle of green antifreeze that seems to be coming from the tube that run down to the bottom of the car on the passenger side under the engine area. I am not sure if it was there for a while but I did let me car warm up for about 15 minutes before driving it this morning. I noticed it when I returned.

Is this something to be concerned about? I was thinking the cap spring (which I understand keeps pressure on the system) might be weak and causing it. Any thoughts or reasons to be alarmed?

    Thanks!

Have you double checked to make sure it isn't coming out of the cap somewhere?
Also...there is a rubber hose with clamps on 2 sides that connects the coolant tank to the metal piping that runs along side the rear of the engine bay..
Can you run the car and see where it is spitting from...Make sure not to overheat it though!

Doesnt seem to be overheating. Drove it a lot today and everything seemed normal. Yes, it is coming from the tube you described because when I looked, there was a small amount on the bottom of it.

    That sounds like normal overflow.
if it's just a few drips after a hot run, then all is by design and fine.

You might also want to check your rad cap. Sometimes the spring gets old and won't hold the coolent pressure like it's supposed to.

I was thinking about replacing that anyway. 15 year old part, probably wouldn't hurt to replace.

    Thanks!

You may have simply overfilled it in the past, and getting it good and hot it is finding it's natural "equalibrium", by spitting out the excess. When cold, you might want to confirm it is at the proper level (which I am unfamiliar with on the 348).

You will also want to make sure that all the air is bled out of the cooling system. If there is air in the system it will cause the coolant to get hot, and that may be why there is some coolant coming out of the over flow. When you bleed it make sure that you have the heater on, and set to the hottest setting. The bleed screws are on the radiator feed pipes that run across the back of the fire wall. The two screws will be on the right hand side.

I had that problem in my 3.2 Mondial, a little green antifreeze dripping. Went to the parts store and got a new cap, fixed it right up. I was told by a Ferrari Dealer to say I have (can't remember what car) instead. It used the same cap. $5.25 later the leak was gone. Nothing to worry about.
