'91 red 348. no records. 46k miles

Hey everyone, I saw into this car over the weekend for sale sitting at my local grocery store parking lot. I live in kind of a yuppy area and there are all kinds of cars for sale in this parking lot at times. I spoke with the owner, and he has no records, no tool kit, no idea how many previous owners, but claims to have kept the car serviced (I did not ask where, but I should have) and in good condition. The car runs well and passed emissions. He did have the emissions doc. Paint is good and the interior could use some re-dye work in some areas. I was thinking upper $30s to no more than $40k for a car like this. Anyone have a differing opinion?? I might take a stab at it, but he is asking way too much at this point.

I really should get hold of the seller again to find out who the mechanic was. I was advised that two years ago it was in the shop for what he called a 'major tune-up'. I was not given a dollar figure for the work, or what he defined as a 'major tune-up'. He had no idea what Fchat was, but I was not going to hold that against him

 

Agreed. I don't think I want to get into a rogue 348. That could end up costing A LOT.
