91 TR cam timing help

    need help on timing cams and crank
    i see a detent on the flywheel and of course the pointer but also have a painted white tooth on the flywheel
    dont want to assume anything
    i see the cam alignment marks since vc are removed
    also see white line on the rear of timing belt covers
    rear of cam gears
    should every thing align i dont think so
    whnt to be sure since first belt change i dont on a ferrari

    all help is appreciated

    ok found what i needed in a wsm
    but still puzzled about tdc mark on flywheel
    am i lining up a spot on the fylwheel under the pointer

    Remove spark plug on cyl #1 and bring it to TDC using some kind of rod to know the higest point and you should find a mark near that spot.

    Don't trust aligment marks in cams. Use degree wheel and dial indicator. Correct values for 0.05" lift depends on TR version, Euro/US and they can found from WSM.

    right !
    don´t trust the original alignments. if you go for those the engine of course will run, but not perfect. so please use a degree wheel to make sure you do it right

    the TDC on the flywheel shows 1/6 and also 7/12, this in 180° difference

    Please be aware that the work shop manual may show European cam timing specs...and not the U.S. specs. The intake cam specs are the same, but I think the exhaust specs are different by a few degrees.
