Hi, Toady I went for a drive and on the motorway I saw two Porsche Cayennes in convoy on the other side of the road. The second one had an enclosed trailer but the first one had an open one and it carried a Porsche 917 short tail in Gulf colours! Could I have seen the real deal? Are there any replicas out there? I could not see anything wrong with it! This happened at the A2 motorway going north near Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Best, Peter
Don't feel badly. There is a company that has replicated the 917k very faithfully! It would fool most...even the initiated until the tail is lifted exposing a flat 6. That said, they have been working to join two flat 6 engines together to replicate the original. I understand there has been limited success so far.
