Hell no. Rarity adds very little to its desirability. It's just a turbo s with some badging. Gt2rs and 4.0 are the most desirable 997 variants.

The reason I believe this is; (assuming street ownership, not museum style collector)

    performance-wise this SEtts kicks butt on the GT2RS and GT3 4.0 0-62 2.7 vs. 3.4 and 3.8

driveability -- the SEtts is a comfortable street car that has the added plus of all wheel drive, the other 2 are track cars that many find uncomfortable for any distance on regular roads

looks -- SEtts is the most subdued of the advanced 911's, the wings etc of the other 2 are over the top.

Rarity -- 500 GT2RS, 600 GT3RS4.0, 30 SEtts ?? 918 authorized but I would be amazed if more than 30 guys in the US bought these while waiting for the slow selling 918 (correct me if I am wrong)

If I am near correct about the number sold, this would be probably the smallest number of any advanced 997 variant, right? It has the performance and comfort to stand on it's own with some very unique exclusives not only the badging, but supposedly the leather is nicer and it has the CGT wheels (1 big nut deal, a pain for the AAA guy, but still something that sets it apart). I have to say, the extreme 911's GT2 and GT3 RS variants while cool never seem to last with their buyers too long, just too impractical for street use. Great for the guy with a dozen car collection.

For all those reasons I stand by what I said. Rarity does add to value down the road (as long as there is substance to go along with it) The duck tailed sport classic is nice but not in the same league and the speedster :)(). These cars SEtts may end up like the rare baseball cards that had errors on them.

Just because the se TT is rarer doesn't mean it will be worth more down the road. That's just silly. It has a pdk transmition so yes it out accelerates the 2rs and 3rs 4.0 but it will forever be less deserable. The 2rs and 3rs 4.0 are street legal versions of succesful racecars. The se TT is just a regular TT with a branding package.

All-wheel drive is what gets the great 0-60 time.

The SEtt is NOT just a regular TT it has the S package.

Different wheels are not just "branding" as in decals and paint.

I have been driving Porsche's for 30 years and know a little bit about them, rare models that perform are more desirable not silly just historic fact. It will be more desirable in 20 years than other 997's.

Read my first post. I know it's a turbo s. makes no difference it's a tarted up regular production Porsche. Different wheels won't magically make it worth a ton more. The real collectible cars are the rear wheel drive gt cars not the awd plush cruisers. You can keep saying it will be the most collectible but it doesn't make it true.
