Having followed this thread first with interest, then with a sort of car crash fascination, I think it's reasonable to say the only person with a concern about the negative image of a salvage car is actually you. Not one post that I can recall disparages salvage cars, in fact there are more than few that discuss the financial merits of a well bought, well disclosed salvage car.

Key word being "disclosed". The only gripe here was the lack of disclosure and the attitude that followed when it was discovered. Now you can argue on and on about how you are saving the future owner from some sort of salvage car disgrace, the facts are that the culture fchat classifieds basically expect a decent level of disclosure. If you've got rock chips or paint scratches, you don't need to log each one but just say the cars got flaws right up front and people will respect you for it. And a salvage title is a bigger deal than paint scratches. Just is.

Agree with it or not, that's the expectation here.

I agree. It's the same feeling that one gets after watching one of the terrible reality MTV shows. A feeling of lesser intelligence LOL.

I'd much rather watch an episode of Beavis and Butthead. At least that way I could attain some humor and bickering that is actually clever

In a weirdly fascinating sort of way, it is a thread that I just can't put down. The OP is kind of a strange fella as are some of the other posters.
Riveting that such people can be so ....well......strange/weird.

well salvage or not it is a beautiful car. the seller is open for a ppi. If the car looks good, runs good and has no issues why are we still talking about it. I contacted the seller and tried very hard to figure a way I could do the deal but me and my Mondial will be together a while longer. I bought my Ferrari to drive! It is not low mileage, not perfect but it is o so cool. 30k for a beautiful 348 should be a no brainer. That is if you want to drive a Ferrari!!!

If I sold my 308 for 60, I'd buy it for 30 without batting an eye, I'm a car guy.

All drama aside, I'm surprised this is still available to be honest. $29,999 doesn't buy many running Ferraris, salvage or not. Considering the 2nd set of wheels must be worth a few grand, it's pretty cheap IMHO.

As much fun as this drama has been, If you want to know what happened, give Andy a call.

He is a good guy and has worked on my 348 for a few years and knows his stuff. It was a golf club alright... a wall AT a golf club. lol..

To Tom's defense, regardless to if he should or shouldn't have said what was going on, if you want a fun car to drive and love and enjoy then this is a good deal! Who cares what the title says. There will always be someone who doesn't care and wants a Ferrari for what it was designed for. FUN! If your buying it for resale then your getting the wrong car! Enjoy it and burn the miles off with smiles! If you want a show car that wins a trophy in Palm Beach, get a garage queen that has never been enjoyed!

In Toms defense? Do you gentlemen travel in the same circle of friends or belong to the same country club? I would be afraid the next time I saw Tom he would punch me right in the mouth LOL there's a word for guys like you but I can't think of just one at the moment

Is that all you can come up with? This thread is about as weird as it gets - I get the feeling that we are all being played by the OP for his immense pleasure.
Tom - do you really want to sell your beloved "red" or are we all just schmucks getting involved in a process which you seem to want to string along forever?

Yes, the car is for sale....Aside from that............the person deserving of the punch in the mouth is far to low to reach, you know, like that pink cookie
in the bottom of the stand-up urinal.

Considering the tone of the seller,... I'm not. One loose nut is likely preventing a deal being reached.

Easy now, no reason to drive this thread any further out of the fairway.
