FYI lot #200 sold today @ RM for $390k + 10% buyer's commission, <1200 miles, had accident damage on rear (unclear whether frame damage) repaired @ Ferrari Maserati of Ontario. Timing belts done 2006. Sounded like $385k was reserve. Bidders were all in the room.

Not bad money for a car with such a major repair.

    As somewhat of a comparison, the 5k mile F40 @ Gooding's was a No Sale @ $420k.

How much did the seller receive? $380k US?
Was it a non-US version? It might explain the soft bidding
    Whats the VIN?

That's what I really think. Other's don't. There a number of F 40's for sale that have been for sale for a while and I see the market softening overall in 09. I wouldn't bet my kidneys that a nice one won't trade bellow 300K before this is all over.

    C U in PB?

    Interesting, only recently you stated...

"Anyone paying more than 180K is renting to own."

I think I will have to start the "Jim, the F40 is not yet a $180k car" thread then?

    Euros for a euro car.

Here's one that's still available at a BIN of 242K euros.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1989-FERRARI-F40-WITH-CLASSICHE-CERTIFICATION_W0QQitemZ150316846329QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item150316846329&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

The Coy F 40 NS at a bid of 210 euros.

You seriously think in light of the above Euro F 40's can't drop to 180K euros within two years?

I still think anyone paying more than 180K euros for a Euro car is renting to own and anyone paying more than 300K $ for a US F40 is renting to own as well. Other's don't. Kewl.
