Hi all, I'm looking at a 92 Mondial in Palm Beach. The car belongs to Alex Papas in case anyone knows him here and can vouch for him. Ferrari Palm Beach quoted 900 for a ppi with compression test. This would be my first Ferrari. I've owned many other fun cars but never Italian. I want to be very careful and diligent. Are there any better choices in the area that know Mondials "better" for the PPI? I'm in NJ so the logistics are not easy. I also travel alot for work. I've got a friend who's local who will go see the car tomorrow to confirm the perfection as stated by Alex. My friend is not a car person at all, just someone I know who's local as a verification first. If ok, a PPI is a mandatory and is my SOP for every Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, etc I ever bought. Any help, advice would be very welcome.
    Thanks,
    David

Tim Stanford in Ft. Laudetdale is the man.

Have the car sent to him.

    You will not be disappointed.

I third or fourth or whatever the recommendation to use Tim. You can transport the care there and back and still save $ over FoPB.

Thanks all.... Just found out another buyer swooped in and bought the car at a higher price. I guess blindly, no ppi, etc. Guess this Mondial wasn't meant for me. Unless the other buyer flakes out of course.

Doesnt Alex own a Lambo too and organize a lot of the recent runs like the one to Orlando a year ago? I think he is selling his business and moving out of the country.

Dude, don't worry about that, I had a mondial and they are not without problems, so Tim is the man around these parts. I would go to Tim and ask him to look out for a car for you, maybe one of his customers has one for sale. Anything Tim maintains is going to be golden or you will at least know everything about the vehicle prior to the purchase. Tim keeps all the F-car records by VIN so if the car changes hands the maintenance records are still with the vehicle, that is a must have for a purchase of a older F-car. Call him and ask him what are the issues so you can look out for them, but I bet its a long list.

Never purchase an older F-car without a PPI, you could easily get a ten grand bill to bring it to where it should be for driving pleasure.
