At Rennsport there were a fleet of 3.0 cars including this silver/blue California car Image Unavailable, Please Login

Not sure because it has Turbo Carrera badges, rear red turn-signal lenses, front amber turn-signal & reflector, all per USA spec. So, I'm thinking the square small turn-signal was added for safety? Of course someone could have gone to the trouble to convert a Euro car with all the aforementioned...
My wife was watching an old movie, "Private Benjamin" which was made around 1979/1980 and there is a scene where she is riding in a car with a French doctor and they appear to be driving an early 3.0 Turbo. The fenders are flared and it has what appears to be a pre-intercooler style wing.
Please congratulate your wife on her astute observation! It is indeed a 3.0 car (single-mirror, French-registered/yellow lamps) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Joe, Yes, she has an excellent eye for cars. I actually just showed her your early 930 thread here on Fchat the other day, so she could see the color green of Ferry Porsche's 930. I will pass on your kind words about her observation. That "Private Benjamin" scene is her earliest memory of a Porsche. She actually called me in to ask about the yellow head/foglamps, and your post confirms what I thought, that it was because it was a French registered car. Best regards, Dino
Speaking of movie/TV cars, here is one (single mirror) used in the Rockford Files. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Charles I think this is the Atlanta-based car you were referring to earlier in the thread? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Based in Lakeland, Florida - at some point we must start a Register with chassis numbers... as if we don't have enough to do already! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
i'm sure it is. and it is proably an old picture as it has a Georgia olympic tag. when i saw the white car for sale at RS, i called and talked to them about it. i was told they bought it from someone in ATL and RS came down and drove it back to the shop. They fixed some items before turing it around to sell, which if i recall they were asking $38k. back then i was looking to pay $25-30k as that was the going rate for a decent car.

Yes RS seem to be a little ahead of the curve, but their cars are very nice when ready for sale. Interesting article from 1975.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes they have some phenomical cars. here is another "coulda shoulda" missed 3.0 purcahse story: right after that on one of the dedicated Porsche boards, i was conversing backand forth with a guy that had a 77 930. he was had just sold it to a well know dealer and the dealer was prepping it to send down to the Barret Jackson Florida auction. i knew all about the car and talked to the dealer preping it. they wer doing a great job on it...mostly cosmetic but taking care of some relatively minor mechanical items. they told me i could buy it from them before they go thru the hassle and cost of sending it to BJ for around $36k. i wanted the car but thought i would be able to buy it cheaper at BJ, as that is not the best venue to sell a classic Porsche in my opinion. I was a phone bider on the car and bailed out at $35k. it ended up selling for $42.5k with the commission.
FYI Tom @ Autosport Designs has been a source of some good cars in recent years. Rear turn-signal lenses on the Oak Green metallic car should be red for USA. And here is another Georgia-registered car (BRUMOS) with graphics you may know? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looked a couple of Carreras were in the old Dudley Moore movie Arthur. I saw a quick glimpse of (2) at the party scene.
Not familiar with this one. i met a guy in ATL who is an ex Jax Brumos sales guy from the 70s. i think he knows every 3.0 930s they sold. he has some cool stories (and memoriabilia). did you know Bruoms had a dealership in Atlanta in the 70s? i'm dying to find on of those license plate frames. i have Brumos Jax frames on both my Porsches, but am looking for the ATL (unobtainium) frames.
