Yes, optional for 1976 and 1977 3-liter Turbos but a manual passenger mirror was not available as a factory option for LHD 1975 Turbos.

The design of the early sports seats did not change for 3-liter Turbos except for the 1975 round seatback knobs shown here in the release position.

Car has Number 930 570 0237, so it is made mid-75, not 74.

Take a look how the leather of the steering wheel is applied. It is made from 4 pieces instead of one, the short spokes are separate leather pieces. And the whole interior is upholstered in a different style than Porsche did it. The seats are wrong for this model, too. Carpets are not close to original. Shift knob wrong. Would be interesting how it looked before the restauration. A friend who inspected the car told me that there are a lot of details that do not match.

    Fine detail.

That's the risk you take with a "Full restoration". More so when you trust the job to somebody else unfortunately.

Again, it is only original once.

I dont understand how people can modify something thats original, because it looks slightly used. Patina and originality just cant be beat?

Sorry, that car should have stayed the way it was.

If its worth that money I cant say. If it is to someone (and my guess is it will be), great for the seller.

@Andrea: Keep arguing with that guy!

    Just my 5 cents

For every one that is fully restored means one less original.

As someone who has an original paint and interior car that I have owned for the last 25 + years with 1 modification all I can say is there are not many of these cars left and if somebody wants one that is original paint/interior there are very few left.

I think that 930 collectors are still early in the collector cycle, they want restored cars not original cars. It's just that now that the cars are becoming collectable the buyers want something that doesn't exist. A car that has been in a plastic bag for the last 40 years for 100k. Or the buyers are looking for the idiot seller who wants to sell one for 30k that has been sitting in their garage for the last 20 years.

It just isn't gonna happen the internet has fixed that.

I am gonna keep mine for another 10 years and then when there are no original cars sell it.... Until then it can live a great life

It's just like the people who buy new shelby mustangs thinking they will be worth something someday, because the old ones are worth alot of money. They just don't understand that back in the day special cars where made by hand. Now days they aren't.
    Just my .02 cents

The brown 76 that popped up on ebay last month for something like 30G is proof that there are uninformed long term owners out there. There always will be.

Recently acquired this booklet from PCA, I'm sure most of you have it. Great detailed information.

Dropped by Porsche Centre Oakville, have some parts on order to replace the missing rear window wiper. I already have the frame that goes under the deck, the motor, the wiper arm and a few other bits, but a few bits and pieces, mostly those that pass through the deck lid, are no longer available. So the hunt continues.

Mecum should post the PCNA COA before the auction as I don’t believe Gooding did when it sold at Pebble Beach in 2008 for $137,500. Seeing the paint to sample on the COA would be very cool. It still has an incorrect replacement speaker dash pad installed that was a part that came out long after Steve McQueen would have sold the car.

Another bonus would be if Mecum posts an image of the paint tag. When Steve McQueen’s 1970 Porsche 911S in slate gray was auctioned, Sotheby's posted an image of the tag and it would be interesting to see if the 930 has the same PTS number.
