sounds like fun. when i met Tim (i looked at the grey 930 he was selling) he had just got the white 79 from Atlanta and having some work done on it. he said he was collecting a 930 for each model year.

the Automotion catalogue offers "turbo" and "carrera" badges which are specific to the 3.0 turbos.

Joe, you do a wonderful job sourcing pictures from all-over!

The white car pictured was featured during the PCA Chesapeake Region 50th Anniversary weekend in Annaplois Md in 2011. It was very well prepared, note the period correct (76-77 )license plate.

Joe, do you know what the correct finish is for the single side view mirror on the 1975 930? I've seen black, body color and chrome/polished.

joe, is is my understanding that all came with the chip guards or shark fins as they are at times called. my father had a 76 in the day and the first thing he did was remove the chip guards...he was not fond of the look. they do however really work and could actually be a bit larger in order to do an even better job.

it is hard to say if that car pictured is original or repainted.

Funny thing is my son & I had just finished driving 200 miles when those pics were taken. I don't think I have ever had someone professional detail any of our 3.0 930s, and I'm not that great myself, so it must be good paint!

Fabulous pics. But I must derail this great thread slightly only to praise one of my all time favorites...993tt :). That white one looks great!

It appears all the pre-production cars had no stone guards and many 1975 cars I have seen are without them

The last one is actually 0014 with its non-original interior. We put it back to original with a bit of help from Porsche Ag's Jurgen Barth (now retired).

What do figure an original 1980 Martini turbo is worth these days? Probably over 60K clicks.

A drive to the office, experiencing the linear shove on boost, listening to the snap-crackle-pop of the overrun on a gorgeous day, and suddenly all is well with the world :)

between the faded trim and faded/mismatch of the "turbo" and "carrera" over time, i don't know why people would still want them?:)

My thoughts exactly! Who needs an old relic?

Reminds me of what an English journalist once said: "Its hot, noisy & unpredictable. God, I want one!"

over the weekend, I saw in the PCA magazine a 76 w/138k miles w/ an asking price of $18,000. described as an excellent daily driver in good condition. i conversed with the seller and he sent me some pictures and the car looked decent but had some "visual upgrades".....some reversible mods and all the original parts would go w/ the car. car looked ok in pics but had been repainted. i passed on it and told a buddy who collects 930s. he bought it immediately and plans to use it for a beater.

That is an excellent price, even for a restoration project! Do you have pics to show its status/condition?

In Europe there are 3 cars advertised with prices converted from Euros. Only the first one is a perfect unmodified car without needs:

    - 1976, $124,579 - Dr Georg Konradsheim
