Nice photos, i like the balance of the car on the first one.

Unfortunately, the comments are strange in Echappement "Nice sound of the 4 speakers" but none on the doors and speaking about the confort of the cruise control.

Maybe a track day for all the journalists that cannot test it before. French garage plate and credit agricole pub on your photos.

Does anyone have any good pics of 75-77 tail fitment they could post- my body guy doesn't like the alignment/fit with my 76 tail but I'm thinking these generally don't fit all that well.
    Thanks,

    Phil

No they are not perfect fitting parts. You may have to fiddle a little bit with it, and possibly stack several washers (as spacer) between the hinges and the lid itself, in order to achieve a satisfying fit.

Pictures will not help you. Every case is different.

The 1975 930 trunk shot from Nov 75 Scratch magazine is interesting. There appears to be a light gray toolkit bag (instead of black) which indicates to me this would have been one of the last 1975 930s produced. I'm not sure when exactly they switched over to the light gray bag (though I suspect there wasn't an exact date).

Also, what is that long box among things? I've seen the red air bottle in a similar box, but this wouldn't be necessary as they have the blue box air compressor in the trunk as well.

and the 934 to me is the most iconic 911 look (together with IROC RSR's). Standard chassis, but beefed up to the max. Cant beat the stance of this thing in the last picture.

Iconic... Iconic... twice, in consecutive posts. Not a record though.

Nothing's more iconic than the word 'iconic'.

The most overused word of 2015... and 2014... and probably 2016.

I thought at first sight it was a triangle but it's large.

I have seen the light gray toolkit bag on another late MY75 Turbo (around 0200).

The long box should be a "Warndreieck", translates to "warning triangle" or "breakdown triangle"?

Did Porsche offer an official Warndreieck at the time?

No, I do not think so. It was to the customer or the dealer to provide one. Same for the "Verbandkasten" (first aid kit). It was required here in Germany to have it in the car, but no car manufacturer put them in the car at the factory. I think Mercedes started that.

Porsche did offer the "Verbandkasten" (first aid kit) in their accessory brochures in the mid-1970s, so at least there was an official one of those.

Thanks for summarizing the data! It points out that I should go back and clean up some of the color names to be consistent. Also, sometimes I don't know the exact original color and just list it as the currently painted color. Also, for 1976 the 934's influence the data a bit so you might filter those out.

Ryan, I'm not sure of the location of the light blue metallic 77 in Jamie's list, but there is another light blue metallic 77 at my mechanic's shop in Honolulu.

Very nice! Emerald green and Viper green are the same color, so for 76 and 77 these can be combined.

There’s no hint of the chassis #/production date but another article photo shows it without shark fins. My ’75 Turbo #0160 has a black coarse weave toolkit bag I believe is original to the car.

The ’75-77 fiberglass tails usually to not all have the same alignment/fitment. ’76 Turbo Carrera chassis #0011, had lift on the upper right side of the tail that may have been typical for many 3-liter turbos.

    Phil,

Being glassed/boned to the metal lids, you are correct in that these early tails "generally don't fit all that well." They all have a slight variance around the edges and I've not really seen two that were exactly alike.

    regards,

Guy thanks- I am looking at the gaps on my 77 - they are ok, not great but generally much better than the ones on my 76, #94. I am wondering if maybe the part quality/fitment improved over time.
