Another image of #0242. Has a chrome driver's mirror fitted vs. body color. The H-4's appear to be missing the body-color trim rings. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am interested in opinions of what folks think a fair price for a 76 950/50 case is, I've got one I may list for sale. Phil
Pinstripe are classic Porsche, Tartan? Good luck in finding a matching seat. I checked into replacing the pinstripe material in a 79 I have that the previous owner recovered in leather. Hard to find and pricy at close to $800 for material for two sport seats and only available in the color of your seat which is what I need. Anyone have a better source?
Just for the pleasure of our eyes, I just took a quick picture (sorry for the bad quality) of the grandmother of our 930s at my mechanics this morning: the famous 2.1 RSR Turbo. Not a replica of course I found a video of the car in action (on the Lurcy Levis race track in the center of France): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiwox2m7lPU Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, They even have the other hard to find pinstriped cloth materials. Will order ASAP. Thanks for the info. Tony@VoitureLTD.
I dig the cloth pinstripe interiors as well. Super rare. A few other rare seat interiors Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lakewell sells the nadelstreifen fabric as well- https://www.lakewell.com/en/general/fabrics/porsche-pinstripe-fabrics Phil
WPOZZZ brought this up a few pages back and it took until now to realize it. The cost of these cars new with inflation factored in, in today's dollars would be about $120,000 as he said. At a time when GT3RS cars are selling for 100k over MSRP at a total cost of $270,000 and guys are waiting in line to pay that, in perspective, these classic cars are cheap. If you look at other collector car brands like Ferrari, Lamborgini, and others, the older classics are priced incredibly rich. Thinking about these comparisons above makes me believe these special cars are still of great value where they currently price. I love the cars no matter where the prices lie or land and for me, the investment is just another facet of the hobby. Tre fun is that not only are these cars awesome but I think the upside is massive. My 2¢ Ok a final note, as a friend recently said, if you could short the GT3RS like a stock, he would sell as much as he could. It certainly seems way more bubbly than these cars and if car prices really tumble due to another economic hick-up, I would rather my car be in an older classic than a new issue. That goes for plenty of new cars. The GT3RS is just an easy example. While it's not really fair to compare new cars and what they offer vs an early Turbo, I can't help but twist all this up in my mind.
it looked nice on TV. No sale at high bid of $150k plus 10% buyers premium = $165k. https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-226428/0/1976-Porsche-930-Turbo/4-Speed/

The Scottish Porsche Dress Tartan fabrics were available in 911, 924, 928 & 930 interiors from 1975 through 1980. They were also known as “Schottenkaro”. Cars originally equipped with Tartan interiors can be recognized through the 999.551.083.40 option code. Below is Dress Makenzie . While this is only a guess, it does seem as though less than 10% of the cars made in 1976 & 1977 came with Tartan. That guess is based on pictures, cars at auction via COA 's etc.

Finally got the rear wiper on a few weeks ago. Missing one piece, but looks fine for now. I love the message that the rear wiper sends. This isn't just a garage queen, she's going to get used! Of course, nowadays I have to confess to not driving her when the weather is poor, but it was the original intention when she was made. Image Unavailable, Please Login
