It looks like in 76 the color was called cinnamon - here is an example- Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera Matching Numbers Engine | eBay Phil
Phil, I don't have my 1977 dealer sample book handy but I will check it next time I'm at my garage. The color may have been called different things in the North American vs the United Kingdom translations...this was very common with the paint colors where most have two English names depending on market/translator (e.g. Emerald Green Metallic and Viper Green Metallic).

KKK930, Yes the AAR (aux air regulator) is correct for your '77 as noted in PETs and on my '77. I had a faulty AAR on my '79 (shot the idle over 2800RPM at startup), not good. I discarded it for now and the car idles at startup just fine. Again it's for cold weather climates that need a warmer startup. The newest Ebay car ('76) has a paint code of L936 (silver metallic) on the car's paint placard but the COA and the Ebay seller says its (platinum metallic) L944. The car is painted silver L936. I think the COA/Dealer are wrong but I'm surely not spending over $250K on a car with that discrepancy. I wouldn't consider that matching numbers.
Good catch on color- this is platinum metallic-http://inventory.mgmsl.com/web/vehicle_photos/23419115/ Too bad it's missing the sport seats listed on COA as well. Phil
I am such a huge fan of the look the car evokes with just the one single side mirror. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ahh. Thanks Rich. So many pictures, I can't keep track! It could arguably be the best interior of them all! Am I alone in finding that sport seats aren't nearly as comfortable as standard seats? I know at least one other large collector of 930's agrees. I have saddled up in both for many hours and while the sport seats look WAY better, they just aren't even close in comfort. Phil, others?
I was offered this 1975 930 recently at a price tag of $420,000. I was told the restoration will finish last year. I also fainted and graciously said thanks but it's a bit too expensive for me and not what I am looking for... - Chassis # 930.570.**** - Matching numbers car. See the attached COA. - The car has been off the road since 1984. The condition was very good with only 70,000 KM before the restoration started. No accident damage and some minor rust, which has been repaired. - The car is 100% stock and complete with a very nice and original interior, including the hard to find original carpeting. - Sport seats. - Date matched Fuchs wheels. I've got both for my '75 and find the sport seats more comfortable. The problem with the early sport seats is the need to "saddle up" when you get in and out of the car. I like the headrest better in the '75-76 standard seats than the '77+ style that is in my '79 930.
Brought to you by the same fine dealership that has the marvelous specimen listed for sale-http://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1967-porsche-912-c-5027.htm Phil
I love the sport seats but they are not a one size fits all sort of seat. If you don't fit between the bolsters I can see how they would be very uncomfortable. Phil
I am 5 foot 11. 195 pounds I guess I don't like feeling like I am gloved into the seat. They do wrap around you.
Very cool... Ive been able to find three different plate frames that were on my car for the first few years in was the U.S. Some of the Porsche plate frame are very difficult to find. I searched online a couple of years (to no avail) for the Alpine Porsche + Audi frame that was on my car for the 1975 Seattle Porsche Parade. I almost gave up until I found one at a swap meet for $1. Not 100% stock since the door has giant drill holes for the '76+ electric flag mirrors Let's hope they properly fill those holes before the resto is complete.

Today a very important package arrived. The newly released G Carrera MFI booklet, that shares several identical and important informations with the 3.0 liter 930. I want to thank Ryan for the amazing effort and job he has done, creating this amazing booklet. It’s everything I expected it to be, and much more. This booklet will be very useful in my research and interest in the 930. I can’t wait to dig into this, this weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am going to purchase copy of book for same reason- I'm sure it contains some excellent information regarding 3.0 turbo's. Phil
It's a shame Schmitt 76 is missing it's sport seats, also COA has wrong color listed as car is not platinum. Phil
I assume you're talking about the latch panel. Yes, all 3.0 930s have that and it's exclusive to these cars. Clearance for the wiper motor.
