Not necessarily - Porsche did not build in order if VIN #'s but in order of production #, the one written on door card.

You just have to hunt down car and tear off door panel to find out- :) Crazy to think how many of our 76's may have been in Porsche factory at same time.

I think the Platinum metallic 76 has been for sale almost non stop for last year or longer - was listed for sale on PCA site for a couple of months and then listed on the Marshall Goldman site for 2 X the price- not sure if it ever sold.

Rich - I see you found the old listings

Those compressors came in the ROW cars, not sure about the 76-77 only claim, people ask $$ for them.

Interesting. One was in my 77 US 930 when I got the car over 10 years ago when it had under 20K miles with records from new. I always wondered about it.

Hello, I'm interested in buying a 76 or 77. Have been looking casually for a while for an original example, little to no modifications from factory specs.
Please PM me if you are thinking...
    thanks...

Gang what would the factory color have been on the exhaust?

Anyone have an idea of the exhaust would have been painted light grey or matte black?

I would guess grey but don’t know for sure. thanks a lot

So I'm thinking the correct color is unfinished SS, I have seen some pics of mufflers that have tips painted flat black but I think that is correct for 3.3 motors not 3.0's

    Rich,

Beautiful wheels- I had Harvey do a set for me years ago. What sizes, look like 9's & 11's.

    Thanks Phil

    9's & 8's...1975 Seattle Porsche Parade trim.

Good news on 15" tires for 9 x 15 rears - Summit Racing stocks the Coker Michelin 255/45 VR15 that is a perfect fit even with the 930 rear spacers installed.

    Rich,

I'd take at look at the Avon CR6ZZ and Michelin TB15 tires as well. Do you plan on running the 8's & 9's. I am going to do something besides the 7's & 8' on my 76. I better get in line with Harvey.

I've fitted 8 & 9 x 15 Fuchs on my '75 Turbo and they work well. I've got a nice full set of Pirelli CN36 tires I'm planning to mount on my 7's & 8's.

From my understanding the compressors were ROW not for USA cars in 76
