I found the time to wash my green '76 today and then flew the drone for a few shots. Sadly there wasn't enough time in the day to wash the Lotus let alone to drive either...

From the Dec ’76 RMR Newsletter. I believe Woody Creek (now Aspen Motorsport Park) is the highest altitude track in the U.S. with a 7465 feet - 7485 feet elevation….no doubt “exercising” the turbo at this elevation. In 1979, Fred had '75 #0160's motor "refreshed” by Dieter Inzenhofer at Andial and to my knowledge, this is the last major engine work performed on my car.

Turbo 3.0 Book by Ryan Snodgrass

I had the opportunity to examine the first copy of Ryan's latest book , the Turbo 3.0. The Turbo book exceeds the already remarkable benchmark set by his Carrera 2.7 book by a significant margin. He tells the story of the 930 Turbo in exacting detail, from Porsche's first work with turbocharging and the early prototypes through series production(and ongoing changes) to the 934 and 934.5 race cars. It should become an indispensable resource for the collector, restorer and enthusiast and it is absolutely beautiful to behold. The production quality is to(Porsche)museum standards.
Here is the clincher: the book includes a listing of every 3 liter Turbo produced by chassis number with original colors and factory equipment. Absolutely mind-blowing. I can't imagine that any single marque/model book will ever attain or exceed this level of excellence. It will without question become the standard reference work for the 3 liter 930(and for the cars that followed), and is destined to become one of the true Porsche essentials. Seriously it's that good. BTW it weighs ten pounds.
    My 2 cents(no commercial affiliation).

    Very interesting document.

My car is only two serial numbers before (and has the engine number 165) and the VIN was issued the same day, April 21st!

I was told several years ago that Grady Clay had the lap record on Woody Creek a long time ago... prolly about the time Fred was driving there.... do you know?

I’m not sure but Grady may have held the lap record. Woody Creek had many landmark Porsche cars running in the 1970s including 904s, 906s, RS 3.0s & RSRs.

    Thank you so much!!!!

I applied lots of pressure on the dealership and they sent that while awaiting the COA. I guess I got lucky.

What’s a Mirror Plan Drivers Side? Electric mirror on driver side only?

Is this the Black Watch Tartan and the Turbo stripes?

Rodsave- that is very interesting documentation- I've been told by everyone that Kardex's are not available for cars of that vintage- I guess that is not true.

Lucky indeed - I've seen 3 or 4 posted on this thread but have yet to find a source who can provide them. This is so much better than a COA!!!

Yes, Turbo Stripes but your car was black leather w/ full black watch tartan...not just the sport seats in the photo you posted.

I'm not sure why they mentioned the manual driver's mirror (it was not electric).

If only one could gain access to the archives! It's all there and available. If only we could have the keys for a few hours. I have tried to get my build sheet to no avail yet.

And by the way Phil, they have documents all the way back to the 1930's so yes, they have all our build sheets on all our cars.

The second pic is all build sheets for all the 911 2.7RS and 3.0 RS - Holy Grail!
